"You don't gotta take anybody's shit man, just to like music" - Janis Joplin

  • @jmallonee12 It's not so much the music but the fact that she is blatantly only doing it for profit. There is absolutely no feeling behind any of her songs.

  • I have the ticket to his solo show in my memory shoebox. <3

  • @FallenPastry i thought i was the only one with a memory shoebox

  • @Casezilla Are you an idiot? First of all, the fact that you use a birth deficiency as a means of making fun of someone is appalling. Secondly, you obviously no nothing of music. Don't you have better things to do then bashing someones hard word and passion? Get a life. Citizen Cope is amazing. Please get a new hobby.

  • @marcieblack23 It is an opinion, man.

  • @Casezilla lol, I dont understand why you listen to him then :D

  • @Casezilla It annoys me that you dislike such a legendary modern musician, which is your opinion and I'll leave it to you, but it annoys me more that your insult is absolutely fucking wrong.

  • sexiest voice, hands down. damn.

  • I was at Clapton's Crossroad's Guitar festival June 26. Cope, whom I had never heard of came out and did this along with Sideways (with Cheryl Crow, that was great. I'm a fan love this guy and I'm 56 yrs old.

  • Hmm. This is the ideal song for inspiration. Whether you like it, love it, dis like it, or hate it. Either way you ended up on this song by your own doing. People this YouTube, not the playground. Please stop with the holier than thou attitude and get a life.

    Please and thank you :D

  • True to himself, It shows in his music, He's true to each and every one of us.

    cope's dope son !

  • ray said there is two kind of music. good music and bad music

for me this a good one

  • @abu63s to me there is Good music and all the rest is just NOISE !

Citizen Cope's sounds are transformed into visual and transcendent sensory phenomena.

  • Shit, I'd sleep with him. And I'm a heterosexual male. Anyone talented enough to write songs as moving as his deserve admiration and are worthy of respect.

All internet comments are usually just one insecure individual attempting to belittle another in order to boost their own self esteem. This is usually done by making brash statements about another person's sexuality / race. Well let me be the first to say i don't really give a fuck about such shallow things, i care about the quality of music

  • Listen to this at least twice a day. Keeps Lady Gaga away.

  • @Dudeyeah601129 HA HA HA ! I know, she SUCKS!

  • @Dudeyeah601129 heard it first time today and listened to it at least five times.

  • @Dudeyeah601129 I love this saying

  • @Dudeyeah601129 ahahaha. *agrees and reaches for a high five*

  • Comment removed

  • @Dudeyeah601129 agree'd sir!

  • His music is so powerful. Stripped down and raw. I saw him at Eric Clapton's Crossroads festival. Eric Stood side stage the whole time he was playing and sang every single word. To have Eric Clapton know every word to every song is saying something. Eric Clapton then brought him on during his set and played two Citizen cope songs during his set. This is some really heavy stuff.

  • Good Shit !

  • right on kid under me!!

  • awesome man.

  • & I have a question !?

Who said he wants to be famous ????

He is just an ARTIST expressing his true inner thoughts !

Well thats what a true ARTIST is all about !

Not saying something to please the crowd !

I love this guy , you have to have a conscious mind about life to understand music in this way . So if you think negative about him , educate yourself about life first then you can go to this level . No disrespect but its like that !!

    One love

  • This guy is a selfish piece of work. some of his music is okay but his attitude needs adjusting....a swift kick in the butt would be warranted. I took care of him during a benifit concert in 09. his manager and him both have no clue how truly important their fans are. this is probably why they will never be truly famous, playing for sold out concerts with platnium albums.

  • @aschwrzkpf sometimes people have bad days? Idk, I've never seen him live but I've heard good things. Regardless, his music and lyrics are fantastic.

  • @aschwrzkpf

You took care of him? Explain this. You make it sound like you either slept with him, or served him food.

  • @MrTumN3s no, absolutely not!!! I did not nor would I ever sleep with him, and I am concerned with the level of maturity you posses considering your mind went directly there. I took care of him means that I was responsible for transporting him, insuring he was set up and had all he needed for his concert, proper people were allowed back stage and others were not. I tended to other misc. needs (non-sexual), to ensure he and his band were taken care of.

  • @aschwrzkpf

Me suggesting you slept with him was my aim at making a joke, wonderful to know I failed miserably. But ah okay okay, makes sense. I'd imagine you spent enough time with the band to form a formidable opinion.

  • @aschwrzkpf Gonna have to disagree with you on your point about him not appreciating his fans. Been to two shows and both times got the opportunity to get to shake his hand and exchange a few words with him. He'll never be "truly" famous, as you put it, because he realizes that his music isn't something that needs to be commercialized. It needs to be discovered, like one would discover a precious gem, so that it can be truely appreciated and valued.

  • @aschwrzkpf oh fuck you

  • this is one of my favorite songs by ythem,!

  • salvations calling put the gun down!

    BLAZE, one love

  • BEST ARTIST

  • I think his music is far beyond what any african american rapper's music he has amazing lyrics and thats what makes rap its not the color of the skin but the way they do it i think you are extreemly ignorant to even post something like that

  • There are some amazing black artists. Not to mention there may not even BE rock OR rap without black culture. I'm white and I love Citizen Cope but I also love countless black, white AND different ethnic artists world wide.

  • fuck race were all human

  • "...May not even BE rock OR rap without black culture..." I like where your head is at, but you may want do some actual research on the origins of the music that you listen to, just so you don't seem so broad and ignorant.

  • I don't see how I sounded ignorant.. Nothing I stated is factually inaccurate. Elaborate? But all the same, rock on brother.

  • I guess its your word choice, "Black culture". For an analogy, my biggest criticism of Malcolm X is that he (In the beginning) clumped all whites together, to say that there is no possible cultural differences between a English immigrant and a Polish immigrant... and rock/rap were influenced by Jazz and blues (things prevalent in main-stream AA culture.) so I agree with you, its just there is A LOT more to it is all I meant to say.

  • Cheers, music doesnt have a color. Nore should life. Unfortunately we live in a world with many ignorant ass holes who will raise their children to be ignorant ass holes.

  • Correction music is filled with colors same with life.

  • word

  • im black and this guy is really good that comment wasnt nescessary at all that was just a very prejudice and ignorant asumption i dont listen to rap like that i listen to more rock than anything but still very ignorat of you

  • nice voice

  • I love citizen cope, he is very deep and an absolute poet, and yes he is white and in no way does he try to be black. are you so ignorant to say that? ang i agree, go listen to your rap and shut the hell up

  • I never post on here, But your just fucking ignorant. Go pop in your lil Jon Cd and kill yourself faggot.

  • you got that right

  • Seriously dude. I mean. Seriously. Know about an artist's roots before you go shitting on them. And music isn't black or white, it's fucking music. Any assumption that music belongs to a specific race is rascist.

  • thats real talk im black ClevelandAvenue and i love this dude music long as it good ima listen no matter the color...music is music and if it can a make u feel good...go to war..or even make love that is one amazing artist so how cares who it came from long as it gave u that Tingle on your skin or spine that means its GREAT STUFF

  • @MILLTICKET7 Well said sir

  • @MILLTICKET7 likewise..im black myself...good music has knows no barriers.

  • @ClevelandAvenue actually its a sterotype.

  • love this song. his voice moves me to wana write (im a poet).

fell in love with his music once i heard this song....

  • can anyone respond to this comment and tell me where i can get the non-acoustic version of this song? is it not on youtube?
