One last thought. The speaker says that Israel offers a chance for the Arabs to join the global community, intellectually, socially, etc.  I agree completely, but this is where the two state solution fails, because it basically divides the pie. If the Israelis were to share, in both the trials and tribulations, to in effect compensate by virtue of sharing culture and identity, then I think a modern Palestine/Israel would be viable and strong. It's their only long term hope.

Just have to say again, this guy is a great speaker with great ideas. Everyone should give him a listen.

As against Israel as I am, this speaker gives me hope that reason can prevail. If we had more people like this in the world, we'd have paradise on earth. He's lamenting the lack of a partner for peace on the Palestinian side. Up until now, the Palestinians have by far borne the brunt of the Israeli experiment. The sad fact is that, over the long, long term, Israel's best hope is integration with all Palestinians in one secular state, imho.
