  • To Mary Eastey, and Rebecca Nurse, thanks gals for making us free as long as we have been free! To Sarah I am glad you did not have to suffer the same fate. Your relative in CA.

  • @blueeyedbaby210

  • I love the song..and thank you for this tribute

  • MyMerlin: As an Englishman, have to pull you up there. Witches in England were rarely if ever burned, they were hanged or drowned. It was mainly continental Europe that did burning.

  • this was beautiful and nicely done. thank you for making it :).

  • Very Nicely done <3

This hysteria was caused by bored teens and pre -teens- hormones flying too -- as well as Fear, Revenge and Politics. Very sad that all those people suffered and lost their lives for such Greed or Trivial Games. These People Deserve Peace as well as respect. The Accusers and Courts are the ones that should be in need of forgiveness~ they were controlled by Greed ~~Money, Property and Influence !!! What a twisted Motivation for those that were so religious !!!

  • i have people i am related to that in 1692 they were killed in salem accused of witchcradt such a sad sad trgedy

  • Actually Bridget Bishop did do witchcraft she was the first women hanged and there were 19 people accused she flirted with men to get them to help with her potions she haunts the witch house ritual on the 2nd floor * sorry im into this stuff* any questions ill be happy to answer

  • Sarah Good: "I am no more a witch than you are a wizard and if you take away my life, God will give you blood to drink." The man who asked her if she was a witch before she hung got this response and died 25 years later of a hemorraghing and choked on his own blood.

  • I SWEAR TO GOD I HATE CHRISTIANITY!!! THEY WHERE INNOCENT PEOPLE!! KILLED FOR NO REASON!! FUCKING FUNDAMENTALIST!!

  • THIS IS WHY I HATE CHRISTIANITY!!!!!!

  • HOLY SHIT!! MY BIRTHDAY IS ON JULY 19!!!

  • so why do we have halloween to make it joyus, while these folks died in cold blood. and how folks dress up. real sick folks out there

  • i couldnt agree with u more people celebrate halloween with there kids and family like its a big joke not knowing the true horrors of what happened it was a genicide of people that were different and old its so wrong man !!!

  • why would it matter if they were witches or not? i dont see why religious belief would constitute death at all. witches or not, they were wrong to punish these people.

  • ill tell you why because men and woman are evil

  • Thank you. Susannah North Martin is my 10th great grandmother.

  • I am a descentent of Sussanah Martin. My family still carrys the same last name too which is usually uncommon

  • Witches in England were burned at the stake - now they were real witches.

  • i can't figure out what to type at the moment ...sorry if you'll acept it

  • thank you, i was hoping somebody would say these poor young witches were innocent :)

  • 1692 there wasnt USA yet so what did the white people then call thier land or country? and no president or white house.

  • The ladys name was "ANN PUD-EATOR" could imagine going through life with that name rofl!!..Btw good video and that sux to be hanged for some bullcrap that didnt exist!!..I think the sick ones were the ones doing the judging and hanging!!

  • this viedo make my cry ,cuse just for ingnorant and puritanism many inocent people die, R.I.P to all womans and mans die on salem 1692

    so sad

  • Song's gay.

  • I love this video. The Salem Witch Trials are my favorite part of history. So many innocent men and women lost there lives from the false accusations of 6 girls, in which after it was all over, only one accuser apologized.

  • i cry everytime i watch of hear things about these innocent victims of crimes they did not committ and those who accused them caused their deaths

  • my great great great grandmother was acussed and hung as a witch

  • you forgot Osburn

  • They killed my ancestor George Jacobs :(

  • @RaynauddeChatillon They killed my Ancestor Bridget Bishop :-(

  • There bad why sould they

R.I.P, they killed people...i dont understand.... plz send me a message....

  • @taequan15

who do you mean are bad?

this video is in memory of the innocent women and men who were wrongly prosecuted of witchcraft. In my opinion those unjustly punished deserve to RIP as due to their persecutors they couldnt live in peace.

  • @taequan15 thye did't kill people, people killed them

  • loved the video

  • I was born in Salem, a lot of history in that city. I think they should make a modern day movie of the trials, it would be amazing. :)

  • @Lach1234 They did. Kristie Alley plays the role of Ann Putnam

  • This is what happens when those crazy fundies take things into thier own hands... Goodness gracious this is the holy crusade except toned down just enough to murder innocent women and men.... wow.. Pray for that >.>

  • May we always remember, and never again... It may have not been the Burning Times myth I once learned, but it was a tragic battle waged only on those who were different and/or willing to speak up and out. NEVER AGAIN. Blessed Be to my ancestor as they have made so many aware. I will always honor Samuel Wardwell. Sarah Wardwell, 34, Wiccan

  • tavarith, sorry i acidentally presed spam not reply, but it was in salem all the way and salem is in massacutes even though i spelled that wrong

  • 1692 susannah martin was convicted of being a witch at the age of 68, her preliminary was held in may 2nd and she was hung on july 19. she was me ancestor and when im 18 im going to go visit her grave in massachustets

  • Actually an overall of 25 people died, not 20.

Over like 65 people in the area were accused of being witches, but thanks to Gov. Phips, the courts trying the people were banned, and the people in prison, and the 65-ish people being tried were let free.

  • wait wait i dont get it is the place where they were hanged still in existence today?........i know salem is still a city..but is the place where they got hanged still a city?

  • @Tavarith They where hung on gallows hill and yes. It's still around. Because I was there...

  • Blessed Be to all the sisters who were hung for not being Wicca. Today we can practice openly...thank the Goddess fro this. )O(

  • There's not enough rope to hang all of them today!

  • Seeing what they did, I don't think hanging them or even killing them in any way could account as enough justice for those who were killed and for their families.

  • I would be safe to say there wasn't any justice in all of this hanging.Just religious

    superstition gone awry.

  • I was referring to those magistrates and people who accused these innocent people and put them to death. Not to those who were very unfortunately persecuted. The thing is, the horror of those times is still present today. Innocents are still being killed and persecuted :(

  • @vrghiks In Pakistan and Indonesia Ahmadi Muslims are still being killed today only for their beliefs. These people are often the elite of the country - doctors, lawyers, professionals. Recently a religious leader declared publicly on national television in Pakistan that Ahmadi muslims are "worthy to be killed". One or 2 days after an Ahmadi was killed. And recently another old professor was killed by these people. Some parts of the world is still very much barbaric even in the 21st century.

  • This killing in the name of religion isn't right.I disagree on wrong teachings, but

I don't take up the sword against flesh and

blood. We take up the sword of the Lord to

teach and preach Jesus Christ. Not a literal sword.

  • @vrghiks I do not believe in taking up the sword either. I am a Muslim and the word "Islam" itself means "peace". The motto of my community, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat is "Love for all, Hatred for none". That is the teaching of Islam. Unfortunately, others twist and use religion to suit their own interests. Which often results in bloodshed.

  • great vid. soooo made me cry. My ancestress is Elizabeth Howe. I don't know how many generations exactly. We call her Grandma Elizabeth tho.

  • i am the 11th great grand daughter of susannah martin i found it out a year ago and my family is finally planing on taking me this year to salem so i can be apart of going and seeing the place***

  • I'm a 10th greath granddaughter of Susannah Martin. Thanks for the video.

  • George Burroughs was my 8th great uncle, i never even knew this until checking my family tree this very week.

  • I like it, but I think it happened in 1692, not 1962.

  • thats what i put

i paniced then thinking i had the wrong dates lol

  • In the name of Jesus Christ, I send you to to the gallows!

  • Yeah, because that's definitely something Jesus would do! lol...

  • Incredible video. Thanks.

  • My Husband is a descendent of Martha Carrier. Thank you for this tribute.

  • I am a descendant of thomas and ann putnam, they are my Seventh Great Grandparents. on my mother's father's side. I learned about the crucible in high school and took in some genealogy information for extra credit. I think it's sad that the crucible strays so far from what really happened then.

  • thank you for showing class to these 19 poor souls. their own town doesn't give them this respect, with their circus like "trials" on the streets. so sad.

  • IM RELATED TO SARAH WILDES!!!!

  • thnx 4 answering my ?!

  • i love this song. WAT IS IT CALLED?

  • womans work by kate bush

  • whats the song?

  • That would be the same Mary Parker who is the 8th Great-Grandmother of G.W. Bush. For further reading see The Untold Story of Mary Ayers Parker: Gossip and Confusion in 1692 by Jacqueline Kelly.

  • Rev Samuel Willard studied witchcraft for 20 years before the Salem witch trials . He said that there are those that practice witchcraft and they need to be found and punished but he knew that these people in Salem were not guilty . He even made the Judge of these trials repent for what he had done. Samuel called it judicial murder. Look him up . Samuel risked everything to stop these trials .

  • Thank You for this video. I have been researching my family history and found out that my great uncle x9 Rev Samuel Willard played a part in stopping the witch trails because innocent people where being murdered like John Willard ,He was accused because he refused to bring in the ones being accused so they said he must be one of them.

  • This was amazing. Thank you for making this.

  • Finding out that my family came from here i thank u for this video

  • wow, this is deep.

    thanks for making this.

  • the towl keep going bye 5 grils saying all this and after all this was done all the people that did the hanging and court came to it they was wroung i thank all the ones that did this should been hung not right at all

  • The law has always been an ass!

    George Vreeland Hill

  • I wonder what musician this is singing?

  • Kate Bush :)

  • @Deader87 Kate Bush this woman's work

  • That was really nice. I have only been to Salem twice, but it is my favorite place. I love your video. It is so sad what happened to these people...

  • I am a direct descendant of Elizabeth Howe of Topsfied, MA. She was accused of witchcraft simply because she liked children. Her own brother threw her to the wolves.

She was hanged July 19, 1692.

  • thanks for telling me that sorry about what happened

  • It is a shame that so many lives were taken due to people not understanding a religion. Wicca is not witchcraft, it is a religion. So many died for having faith in that religion. Bless you for remembering their sacrifice.

  • they werent witches. read the crucible

  • I understand that they weren't witches, never said that they were. What I said is that most people killed in the witch trails were wiccas or pratice other religions.

  • no, not very many of them were even wiccan, they were the odd ones out in salem that the girls chose to blame because it wouldn't be questioned. if they'd blamed upstanding people it probably would have been different, but Bridget Bishop, for example was known to drink and argue with her husband frequently, so she wasn't well liked to begin with. still, either way the whole thing was ridiculously unfair.

  • MiseryOf3-

They couldn't have been Wiccan because Wicca wasn't around back then. If they were witches at all, they were just doing folk magic, not Wicca. And since this was New England in the 1600's, perhaps some of them (assuming they were or were descended from immigrants) were honouring the traditions of their home countries, and the traditions got misconstrued as witchcraft since the theme at the time was mass hysteria and collective delusion.

  • but where wicca came from was real magic which was around way before wicca and is way more powerful, i think its High Magick or some other one but something like that

  • RedFan45x-

No, Wicca was created/invented by Gerald Gardner in the 1950's. It has elements of Ceremonial Magick (high magick) in it, but Wicca itself does not come from Traditional Witchcraft. And all magick is "real magick", whatever name you call it. And "low magick" and "high magick" have nothing to do w/ the power of the magick, it just means that they each have different elements that they work with. But high magick is not better or worse than low magick.

  • wicca didn't even exist back then. it has roots from ancient Celtic and European beliefs, but no one was Wiccan.

  • its ok

i was begining to wonder if anyone actually liked this

    glad it helped

  • I am a desendent of Mary Esty. Thank you so much for having this video, so I can know when an innocent woman died. Our family records were incorrect with the date she died. I will change it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
