My mother brought Mehndi Hassan's music into our house when i was only 11. Now that I follow classical music and ghazal. What a wonderful parental gift that was and now I know why this man is so appreciated , such mastery of Sur is very very rare. Wah Wah Khan Sahib I salute you

WOW - BY FAR the best rendition of this poetry is sung by mehdi hassan. I heard Ghulam Ali's ghazal version as well. There was a song in Bachan's Ek Nazar named patta patta also, i think its a Lata and Mohd Rafi duet which is great but too bad its a song, its not fair for me to compare it to mehdi hassan's version.
