  • diana looks scrawny as hell and sickly

  • Flo was so beautiful and more sexier then the other two.

  • with SO many performances to choose from. this ONE epitomizes their magnificence. florence looks SO beautiful/professional. DR is beyond praise. she managed to take them to HEIGHTSSSSSUPREMELY.

  • I remember watching the Supremes sing this song on The Tonight Show the day after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was assassinated. A very powerful tribute that unfortunately was lost forever because they reused the tapes back then.

  • Cringe-worthy. Dianna Ross looks off her tits.

  • Diana felt it!!

  • @bigbear39ca How can you say Mary had a rodent look to her.Mary and Flo were so pretty while Diana Ross was and is so ugly.Maybe this video clip did not do them justice but look at Mary and Diana as they are today.Mary is so beautiful while Diana has no hope ,her face is so puffy and it just gets worse..IM sure if Flo was alive she would be just as pretty as Mary.RIP Flo.

  • @Desiree50 You go sis

  • O...my fair lady...? I also like the sound of music!

  • I think it's sad that it has come down to making comments about autotune and computers adding vocal enhancement to our current talent pool or lack thereof. I refuse to think that there is not real talent out there now. It all comes down to money. The people with the money control what's put on the radio. It's high time they put individuals who can sing without such enhancement to entertain us. This performance was great!

  • no autotune needed here!

  • like fine wine classic music just gets better with time.

  • its about faith

  • lindo , gosto muito da Diana

  • Diana ross is thinking about a special guy

  • @bigbear39ca I hardly think it's mature calling someone a beaver.

Mary Wilson is a very classy lady. She was always called the pretty one by Diana back in the 60s. She also has a very smooth sexy voice. She is also a very intelligent lady.

Just because she didn't become as big as Diana doesn't mean she is any less worthy.

Perhaps if Diana had kept her legs shut and not been so greedy, she wouldn't have become so famous. Diana doesn't particularly look dashing in this clip.

  • a breathtaking rendition of this song......I missed my ex.......wahhhhh

  • It's so obvious here that Diana would become a great actress! The lady did

It all in the entertainment industry! This

Is an awesome performance by the super duper supremes.

  • @bigbear39ca how dare you speak about the great mary wilson!!

  • Frankie Lymon's version is the best, hands down!

  • Wow this song almost and at times brought tears to my eyes!!The surpemes are amzing and when I hear flo's voice in this song it makes me tear up a little.Flo voice is so strong and powerful. She is an amzing singer. This is the time period when people really could sing ,they really could.I love the supremes!!!!

  • The song is also known as "Somewhere" Supremes forever<3

  • Diana Ross need I say more lovely wondering if she's a big fan of Westside Story

  • You'd think they'd give them a mic each! ;-)

  • Class love this...

Even when Diana creeps back up to the mic for encore...

Considering the time this was made it is milestone.

    Thanks again and again...

    ;0)

  • In this video only Diana had her teeth cosmeticly fixed,Mary didnt have hers done yet.Im guessing Berry Gordy had a little something to do with that one.Peace Des

  • Diane was an exceptional singer during this time. her voice was amazing. the notion that she wasn't a good singer is ridiculous.

  • The Suprems so need a tribute concert before we lose them!I would LOSE MY PRECIOUS LITTLE MIND to see Destinys Child Reunite doing this song as a tribute

  • Wow' Flo!

  • @porgynbess Florence Ballard is not in this video.

  • @SpazChat Yes she is,Look real good .That is not Cindy Birdsong!

  • @Desiree50 Thanks sis you tell that person

  • @SpazChat She's not????

  • Florence was so beautiful,so sas she had to leave us so early. So sad she died on welfare. And so sad that Gordy fucked her over big time.So sad that Gordys kids were eating 7 course dinners and Flos kids were surviving on food stamps.Word has it that Diana put ten thousand dollars in a trust for Flos 3 daughters, whats 10 thousand? But what most sad is what did Gordy give those young girls.I wonder how he can sleep at night?

  • @Desiree50 I agree with you sis She wasn't the only one that got fucked by Gordy P.s. At least Diana did put in some money for Flo's kids now what did Gordy do? nothing

  • LOL @ Flo and Mary wondering "Girl what is the matter with you?"

  • Comment removed

  • yo!! diana loses at 3:11 - love the theatrics

  • @dalmationham It's called ... STAGING

  • Great performance by all three ladies and I have to say that Florence looks absolutely beautiful here.

  • @Keezie27 flo looks mad as hell to me. she had the misfortune of being in a group with a mega talent like diana ross who eclipsed her easily.

  • @whatigot2say You need some fucking help!

  • Its the Dreamgirls lol nah jks but i couldnt help but not picture beyonce, jennifer & anita ahaha

  • Diana lookslike she's crying

  • @coolsweetgroovy Sis shes prob crying cause this is such a beautiful song, from West side story.Peace and love.big SIS

  • @Desiree50 You're right and the Supremes also did another song from Westside Story too P.S. Isn't it sad how Diana been over looked in the industry? After all she's to R&B what Brian Wilson is to rock

  • @coolsweetgroovy Diana hasn't been overlooked in the industry. She's got a Kennedy Center Award for pete's sake and countless American Music Awards, a Golden Globe, a Tony Awards, a French equivalent to the Academy Awards for LTSB, and lifetime achievement award. I don't know why she's never won a Grammy. That is just evil politics.

  • @SpazChat I know I meant in the music industry after all it's been long overlooked that she's to R&B what Brian Wilson is to rock P.s. Saw her when she got the Kennedy Center honor with Brian Wilson P.S. little known fact Brian is Diana's long time crush

  • @coolsweetgroovy Keep in mind that I think Dick Clark's AMA's are much more true and worth more than Grammys. Grammys are decided by a self proclaimed committee in the industry. AMA's reflect record sales. So obviously for whatever reason, Diana was hated by the recording industry big wigs, with the exception of Berry Gordy.

  • @coolsweetgroovy Oh sis btw Diana put 10 grand apiece for each of Flos daughters. But when they reached of age the money wasnt even there. Most likely there father Tommy Chapman had something to do with it because its likely he was the custodian,That was a wrong move.Everone knew he was a dirty dog and had a hand in draining Florence.Peace and Love,Desiree

  • @Desiree50 wow sis so sad RIP Flo

  • @coolsweetgroovy poor flo you can tell by her face that she wasn't a happy camper. her attitude got her booted out of the group.

  • @whatigot2say What about Diana's attitude, her ego was bigger that all three girl put together, she was a spoiled brat that thought too much about herself and that right there. Diana played her part in what happen to the group.

  • @tevtev92 that maybe true, she was very young early 20's don't forget that. people change as they mature.

  • @whatigot2say wow had a guess

  • Diana - She had a special look and manner, the whole package - cute, bubbly, passionate.

There is only one Diana Ross

I Love the Supremes - especially the Star - Diana Ross!

  • Comment removed

  • Yes all too true Diana was more than a singer but knew how to engage the audience that is something special again why so many aspire and unfortunately so many don't make the grade. She wanted to out there a prima donna and became one

  • @zinger52 Diana was and still is to some degree an incredible live performance. Her charisma shines beyond the stage. I'm not sure that's something that can be taught. You either have it or you don't. Look at the old clips of DraTs. She was always smiling the widest and was the most expressive. The other two or three women's eyes always looked dead and they rarely smiled. Singing on stage is definitely what Diana was born to do and she did it quite well. Most singers aren't as versatile as her

  • diana is giving pure drama love this lol

  • I'd like to give Dianna Ross a poo tash.

  • super... watch Millennium shakespeare art Exhibition

  • I'VE FLO AND MARY SING SOLO AND TRUST ME NOBODY WAS GOING TO BUY THEM SINGING SOLO!

LONG LIVE THE FIRST LADY OF MUSIC AROUND THE WORLD,

    THE GREAT DIANA ROSS.

  • Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson looked like beautiful goddesses. and Diana, well, she looked even more convincing as a "welfare chick" adopted by rich parents.

  • cocksucker

  • back WHEN SINGERS DIDN'T NEED NO COMPUTER TO HELP THEM

  • @CerebralMadness it's there to mask the inability to sing (cher on the other hand used it to be trendy)

  • @CerebralMadness If someone said you never told the truth before, you did here!!!!!

  • @CerebralMadness Some still don't. Have patience, my brother.

  • @CerebralMadness Wishfull thinking. Humans have been faking perfection even before the old Greeks. Next I'll hear that Marylin Monroe was an incredible singer. Yeah, right.

  • @CerebralMadness this is priceless mussic i love hard house\,trance drum and bass but this takes above all this best music ever

  • Lovely song... wonder what ever happened to the two Supremes?

  • I love her voice. We are fortunate to have her recordings. She is an icon.

  • diana was sooooooooo awkard ugly lookin omg smh.. look how she stands n stuff the wing look like it weighed more than her!! ahhhh the camera shouldn't do close ups on her face!!! but anyway the other 2 women look beautiful

  • @princesscorynthia bitch you look worse shut the fuck up

  • @Calomante princess must be ugly or dumb not to notice that Diana is gorgeous here

  • @princesscorynthia i AGREE 100%

  • WHAT YEAR WAS THIS??? IT'S NOT IN THEIR DISCOGRAPHY.

  • Just becasue Diana didnt have the earthy tone of Flo didnt mean flo was better.Diana had technique and the star quality she know how to caqptivate.Sorry but a vocals arent the only factor. There are many great singers like Flo.but FEW great entertainers Like Diana Ross

  • @MJBKfan4ever perfectly stated. and that is why diana survived and why florence didn't. i am absolutely convinced diana would have made it big time in whatever career she chose. her sisters also did well in their lives and her brother wrote hit songs. that family was gifted.

  • yes.im not denying flos talent as a vocalist but to survive in the music industry you need more than just a voice,Diana was the package a uniquely elegant look, thin, but full of character.A voice that was light but more connective than flo or mary.and the drive to be the best.YOu see it in female artist today like Janet and Beyonce after that.Theres no doubting the vocals there, but the Star quality that is SO RARE.

  • my god Im amazed.. diana is amazing I have to say she can act, sing and be happy and energetic plus give the exact right expressions on stage just soo inspirational

  • diana looked weird as she giggled out of the lights. hahaha

  • beautiful voice xxxxxxxxxxx

  • omg I loveeee this performence and I love all of them especially the way diana sings is just amazing with pure passion and meaning.. Im mesmerized really

  • mary and flo....sound wayyyyyy better than diana

  • Amazing performance! Diana was a natural born entertainer, they type that happens very rarely. Her voice is spectacular! Not the biggest voice but her voice has style.

  • wow....this is an incredible performance. they look gorgeous. diana knew how to work it! she wasn't the best singer or the most beautiful but she had the theatrics down! WORK! (esp. the part where she moves away from the mic...PERFECT!)

  • Man, hate all you want but you have to agree that Diana knew what to do with the tools she was blessed with because the entire time my eyes were on her.

  • LMFAO.......yea there always tention between all three of them n it wasn't all on Diana ppl so shut up but lol @ that look on Flo face @ 3:17-3:49

  • ID FUCK

  • Florence looks so beautiful - wish I could go back and tell her

  • I live for Diana's dramatics XD

  • Isn't this song entitled, "Somewhere"??? It's a shame how Diane swooped in and stole the last thing that was keeping poor Flo happy. I guess Diane had to have it all, no matter what the cost.

  • Well, I don't worship people, but I believe every person is due their honor and she is wonderful!

  • One of the most beautiful performances of this song I've ever heart...they she felt it on her heart...she is singing with all her heart...so emotional

  • I never knew they sang this song...wow...you learn something new everyday...thanks for posting.

  • Those girz had mad skills, yo.

  • In Tom Waits version this comes off not as youthful hopefullness, but as a barroom drunks delusion.

  • Melhor de todas as interpletes internacionais até hoje na minha opinião; QUERO A MUSICA DO YOU LOVE-ME ?, ELA CANTA COM MARVIN GAIN. bjs

  • Even though Diana is a good entertainer and have that stage presence, she wanted the spotlight. I was waiting to see if she hit Mary with her elbow when she stood in front of her

  • Miss Diana and the Supremes sang this song, (aka "Somewhere" ) on the tonight show, the following night after Martin Luther King was assassinated. Diana also went on to give a eulogy at his funeral. She is such an engaging performer.

  • Liked your comment. I hope you have seen Diana honor Dr., King in 1886. Go to YouTube Diana Ross We Shall Overcome. It is in Budapest, and it is absolutely breathtaking!

  • Flo Flo Flo, you never got the recogition you so richly DESERVED!

  • @AithWONDER ... no - she did not - always luved her --- will always luv her ...

  • @AithWONDER yes she did she was dianes best back up singer.

  • @whatigot2say Flo was not a backup singer, she was 1/3 of the Supremes.

  • @konumers flo was my second favorite supreme and i loved her. if you cant say anything nice, i'll skip your posts from now on. all supremes should be respected....... miss ross just happens to be light years above the others, but that doesnt make the others worthless.

  • ...

  • To the poster: the title of the song is "Somewhere," NOT "There's a Place For Us".

  • Diana Ross is so cute! :)

    Ella es hermosa!

    =)

  • Diana is so sharp and clear. I love how she riffs and bends on the "somewheres" and "somehows". How about the way she convincingly works that cheesy spoken piece. That fall back is too much. This is why she's the best entertainer of our time. No one like her in the world.

  • @pnyc1969 I have loved Miss Ross since fall of '64 and haven't gotten over it yet. Perhaps my fave youtube moment is at 1:37 of this song. I agree with your words - she works the song, had already sung it 100's of times, yet kept it freah. This dialog is so nothing, but she sells it like it's the meaning of life and the audience buys it - often there was applause after it! I love EVERYTHING she does in this clip, every step, nuance, gesture, flick of the hair......... OMG, MISS ROSS - lol.dig U!

  • 1:28 - 1:38 is so funny to me for some reason. The way Diana disappears and reappear she was such a drama queen in this performance lol

  • It's the drama, charisma and talent that made her a big star. Look at Mary and Flo's eyes compared to hers. Diana is much more expressive.

  • I didn't mean it in a negative way. The over the top and over exaggeration performances is what makes me love her.

  • I don't believe they were happy

  • Diana's eyes look like those of a crack ho'.

  • she wanted to make an entrance:)..the diva:)

  • lol xD

  • I love Florence and Mary they look so cool. Man I wish they could have sung more they both had great voices, Diana sound good to but I like strong voices, plus she was very dramatic with her performance.

  • I agree. Thats why lead singers in groups sort of get on my nerves. Not so much when the other sings don't want lead parts or can't really sing, but I'm sure these girls would have welcomed a chance to sing lead.

  • Diana so dramatic! i love it lol! damn i love it.

  • she can sing, but she looks mad creepy

  • Yes, Diana! Say it. That's why Micheal loved you! You taught love well. What a great heart..

  • @renaissancea she's the goddess - worship her ...

  • beautiful rendition of this great classic

  • Without a doubt, this is the best I have ever seen Flo look...love her hairstyle. Nice to see her at the top of her game. Every time her name comes up, everything is so controversial. Just like to see her looking great on here.

  • I agree. Flo looks absolutely great here. I couldn't keep from looking at her, I was lucky enough to see her live with the Supremes back in the sixties just when Holland/Dozier/Holland came out. They were fantastic then.(a side note: Their opening act almost stole the show. People had really never heard much if anything of them. It was generally agreed afterwords that the Supremes and the Spinners were a draw when it came to who put on the best show(O:)

  • Very good but not as good as the original! nClassic song now, everyone , akmost has done it! Beautifil song, a CLASSIC!!

  • you are very wrong.

  • isnt this song from west side story?

  • Yes, under title "Somewhere".

  • actually, the five-note theme was written by beethoven, lifted by bernstein. check out second movement (adagio) of the 5th piano concerto ('emperor')

  • originally written by leonard bernstein and lyrics by stephen sondheim. somwhere is the song in the play just after the rumble where riff and bernardo are killed. maria falls apart and tony comforts her with this song,

  • Their 3-part harmony performances are some of my favorites; this one and their version of "People", with Florence Ballard singing lead, are so fantastic. Their voices blended so well in harmony. I just wish someone had turned up Flo and Mary's microphone to equal Diana's. LOVED the camera angle at approx. 1:24 with the three ladies in profile, and I love how Diana backed off while Flo and Mary sang, "We'll find a new way of living." Very nice way to perform that. The ladies were gorgeous.

  • i love LOVE at about 1 30 she falls back

    and omg its amazing :)

  • pumas1414

    I love it too.

It's funny but when she leaves the frame the picture is not so stunning........No?

  • oldschool-destinys child!

  • Breaks my heart to see Flo and how miserable the Supremes took her to that kind of level

  • As an original fan, I'll never understand why Gordy didn't give the other two more to do.They were their best with the voices blended as when they did a Rogers and Hart melody on tv,

which inspired the album. As for the name change, could you

imagine "Mick Jagger & the Rolling Stones"? So unnecessary....and stupid.

Anyway, isn't it ironic that "Dreamgirls" turned out to be "The

    Florence Ballard Story".........

Lastly, please stop the profanity.....it only shows immature or CRUDE people.

  • i love diana ross don't get me wrong.. but here she looks like that female gremlin from gremlins 2. DON'T YELL AT ME, IT'S TRUE! also i love this song :x

  • haha, yep.

  • This just may be the best I've ever seen Florence look ... talk about regal!

  • Secondly, her gestures - the hunched shoulders, straight arms, facial grimaces - all unique and amazing to watch. The kind of characteristics that are nowadays never seen. I mean, if the faces of todays stars were blocked out could you tell the difference between any of the top 20, top 50 'stars' of the music industry? This was a time when some people really did have the 'x factor'.

  • Wow. That was such an interesting performance. Firstly , in the wake of MJ, I couldn't help thinking how similar Diana Ross and later life MJ looked. I guess he idolised her and thought she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.

  • the stage presence (of all three members) is IMMENSE lol

  • This is also on the THERE'S A PLACE FOR US album / cd that was shelved by Motown for years, but is now available.

  • This song is called Somewhere, it's from West Side Story.

  • This is from a live performance that was taped at the Hollywood Palace a venue in Hollywood, CA.

  • its the album i think its called theres a place for us where its like green

  • All that Mise en scène, all that glamour, what do we have these days ?

    Shit sandwiches.

    I'm not happy.

  • fabulous

  • diana's voice is pure magic

  • I am completely in love with Diana Ross and The Supremes, she is a lovely singer. Thanks for posting this!!

I have a question for oceanbound222, why would they be named Diana Ross and The Supremes? lol

  • Actually, when they recorded this here they were still called The Supremes. The name change didn't come until after they had 10 US #1 hits. It came in mid-1967 around the same time that Florence Ballard (the real Effie White seen here on the left) was fired.

  • I love the supremes but Dianna Ross scares the shit out of me!

  • i know the facial expressions on this clip lol but she's beautiful!

  • chillax!

  • These girls were pure class. Gorgeous outfits, gorgeous harmonies- they formed a significant part of my adolescence.

  • What genre i fit most??
