You jumped on them for no reason, making it about him being gay, and used it as an opportunity to get on some sort of soapbox, and it wasn't warranted.
"Kim" even tried to apologize when it wasn't needed.
I'm sorry you can't handle reality, but the default assumption is that the majority of people are straight, because that's reality

The "joke" was offensive and she needed to know so she won't do it again.
