I LOVE the Filmation version of Aquaman AND Black Manta. Black Manta is my favorite Aquaman villain... he was such a BADASS in the Filmation series. The Hanna Barbera Legion of Doom version of Black Manta was a follower and a PUSSY. He was also the wrong color. This version of Black Manta is the right color and was a leader. Love the background music of the Filmation series, almost as good and memorable as the 60's Spidey cartoon. :)

Thanks for the info. Also the irony of Marvel's Grim Reaper is he's trying to come off as scary as the Grim Reaper but he's no more than a jealous brother that didn't get enough attention from mom, and so far from being anything comparable to the Grim Reaper it's not even funny. More like Weak Copy not Grim Reaper.

It is. He was the "main voice"(narrator, etc.) of Filmation's product. The role was taken over by Norm Prescott (and later by Lou Scheimer.) Prescott's is the booming voice you here at the intro of Tarzan and the Super 7.

Aquaman has superhuman strength, speed and durability to withstand the pressures of the deepest ocean. So, for all those that think all he can do is talk to fish, you all are sadly mistaken. Next to Supes and Wonder Woman, Aquaman was the strongest member of the Super Friends. He'd snap Batman (a total fraud as a superhero...just a rich man with toys) like a dried twig. He was just misused and underrated as a character by Hanna-Barbara and Filmation.

It was pointed out further down the comment list, too, that Aquaman's character was than of an underwater adventurer and not a crime-fighter in the classic sense of Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and the others. Aquaman when he encountered trouble would turn the villain over to the authorities or they perished in some fissure or whatever.

This was the first Aquaman cartoon I ever saw, many years ago when I was a little kid. I was very excited at the time. I wished they had let Mera do more.

And I never understood why Filmation felt compelled to put boots on everybody.

that's refreshing to see...us fans of SUPERFRIENDS and the characters from that show often get jokes hurled out about Aquaman because of his "fish talking" ability but i dismiss the jokes because the joke-tellers are ignorant about Aquaman's character. Sure, he telepathically talks with fish and other under-water animals but that's his character and for those who like to watch underwater cartoons, will understand the need for Aquaman's talents.

It should be noted that Aquaman doesnt have the usual aray of superpowers because he was originally not so much a superhero like Superman but an adventurer. More like Flash Gordon or Tarzan.

He travelled from one Undersea city or alternate dimension to another,

having adventures, rather than fighting crime.
