  • Neil's so gorgeous in this one, especially at 1:15. That smile!

This song is always best heard live. The studio recording doesn't do it justice.

  • still luv this song and makes me young again.

  • such a great song, so underrated, always surprises me how many people know the album name but not the song

  • ..me encanta!

  • 1987 eh, je's it feels different, LOL

  • I LOVE Neil Finn

  • beautiful voice!

  • this song could be a Christmas song, it could be a summer song, it could be a love song, an energy song, everything! I use to listen to it whenever I'm out running, when I get tired, I just start to jump it's crazy!

    Love it!

  • you got it, if you do not move to this song you must be dead :)

  • haha, that's true!

  • I always listen to this song in my ipod when I'm out running. Gives an extra energyboost!

  • Magic song, in their heyday i would , tremendous

  • Tequila Sunrise...the shot where michelle pfeiffer drives the convertible with this one playing on the background, beautiful!!

  • Me to, Hooper actually contributed to the songwriting of reccuring dream. They had an awesome sound at this consert.

  • I remember coming home from a party and watching this in the little caravan we were staying at! I loved this concert - I use to watch it over and over!! Love this song - loved their brief Mullanes period and I often wonder what they would have sounded like if Craig Hooper had stayed on!!!

  • Is there a 'NOT LIVE' video of Recurring Dream? I couldnt find it on youtube...!!?

  • Do you mean a single release + music video?...

I'm an avid Crowdies supporter, and I've never come across one... (unfortunately)

strange that it was never released as a single though...

  • yes that was what I meant, a music video...its a shame.

  • Just watching this again for the millionth time...

This is probably the best live rendition of this song I've ever heard on youtube

(I haven't been lucky enough to hear it live myself!)

  • This is their best song

  • LOVE this song :) thanks for posting

  • Did you notice Eddie Rayner on the keyboards jump when that boom went off in the beginning of this video? No one else seemed bothered by it. I just noticed this.

  • I have a feeling it might have been an over dramatized jump?

and did Neil trigger the boom?

looks like he hits something with his foot just as it goes off....

  • I have just fallen in love...... with Nick's bass line.

  • Such a great song like most of Neils work!!

  • I so love this song. In my book CH is the greatest and most talented band ever! I love these guys!!!!

  • Thanks so much for posting this, this is one of my fave CH tunes and I've never seen them perform it... maybe on the tour? I can dream can't I!

  • "within myself there are a million things" thanks to dankx75 for posting this.

  • Just so, so, so underrated! IMHO Crowded House's best pop song. Loses absolutely nothing performed live!

  • oh my god that is one of the best songs ever written...I love that song

  • This is my favourite CH song too. Aw - they all look so young...

  • This song is also on the sountrack Tequila Sunrise. A movie with Kurt Russel and Michelle Pfeifer.

  • I SO love this song. And Neil's voice here is especially lovely.

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! Thanks for uploading it.

"Recurring Dream" is my secend favorite CH song.

I like their rendition of "Auld Lang Syne" on this video too. This is going on my MySpace Page.

  • @HonoraryMarine Damn, I made this comment 5 yrs ago??

  • One of THE greatest pop songs ever written

    Fab!

  • This song was not only on the Afterglow album. Recurring Dream first appeared on the soundtrack to a movie, Ricky and Pete. It also appeared as a live version on the bonus CD that came with Recurring Dream: The Very Best of Crowded House (before the CD was re-released with a bonus DVD).

    from wikipedia:

Crowded House provided one song ("Recurring Dream") for the soundtrack of the film Rikky and Pete, other tracks for which were provided by various combinations of Split Enz alumni.

  • thanks for putting this up. they missed out a verse tho! its my favourite song of all time! such a shame they arent around anymore. this song is their best and most underrated. cant beleive it was only released on the afterglow album

  • They are reforming to preformlive yeah lol i'll be there with bells on 27/01/07
