personally, I think this song goes perfectly with JoCos other song, octopus. they both seem to tell the same story. (one from the point of view of the humans, the other from the point of view of the squid.) not only that, but they both kind of reflect modern society and relationships but in different ways, yknow.
Man, this song is actually pretty sad. It not only reflects modern society and social standings(i.e."The dolphins are all phonies" referring to "Fair weather friends") but it also depicts the hard and arduous life of a squid.
@Evilguf Thanks for the interest J but I respect Jonathan Colton’s music too much to change it. I love the song the way it is.
The music I used was from a live show as apposed to “a thing a week” were I think I first found it. This might responsible for the change? Also I had to compress my original in order to make the file size small enough for YouTube this might also account for what your picking up
@DancingWindigo I'm sure it's because it's a live version! ;) I recently listened to this one and the "original" recording, and there's a noticeable difference between both the guitar play and his voice.
- Not that it's bad, at all, though! I somewhat like this version better :)
look at top comment one.

I can say with complete honesty that this is the saddest song I have ever heard about a giant squid plotting to sink human ships.

I love this song. Even though it's about a giant squid, it still warms my heart ^^
