  • @mikeslockerzhacks retard the coast guard is part of the military fagget

  • @RobbyJoys actually, the coast guard is part of homeland security, not department of defense(military branches)

Never the less the Coast Guard is bad ass!

  • @RobbyJoys hahaha fail no they are not only in times of war lol any other time they are not and now with this new homeland security crap they might be part of that lol

  • @Quickdraw0317 Actually the Coast Guard is one of the FIVE Armed Services. They are under the Department of Homeland Security during peacetime, capable of performing both military and law enforcement operations (the rest of the military can not perform law enforcement), and during wartime they can serve under the Navy. They are very much a part of the military. Their song is included in the Armed Forces Medley, and they march with the Army, Marines, Air Force, and Navy in parades.

  • I hope i make it though basic training This looks like the perfect job for me

  • USCG is the best coast guard in the world!!!

  • This is such an inspirational song for me and this video really hits home because my dad was in the Coast Guard and it almost makes me cry thinking about what conditions he endured just to save other people's lives. Even though we don't always get along, I love him and this video make me realize how proud of him I am also. Thank you Three Doors Down for the song and thank you StarrNickens for posting the vid!

    Go Coasties!!!

  • Think of how many more lives would be lost in martime incidents if it weren't for the Coast Guard. Thank You Coast Guard for everything you do!

  • Comment removed

  • AST school is hard you might want to make it through Bootcamp before proclaiming your intentions to the world because most people change their minds. But if you really want it and are willing to sacrifice a lot then go for it.

  • Im going to boot camp in a couple of months to join the U.S. Coast Guard, and i have bee nwatching videos like this. The only feeling i get is inspration, and I know that I'm making the best choice i will ever make in my life..

  • lol

  • I'm glad to see SOMEone FINALLY recognizing the USCG as a branch of the US military! I was deployed to the Middle East (Port Security Unit). You'd be surprised at the amount of people who ask, "What's the CG doin in the desert?" Geeze...open your freakin eyes America!

  • I also recognize the USCG as a member of the US military

  • are the people that make it so if you do plan on joining good luck andf god bless!

  • thats right goooooooooooooooooooooo uscg!

  • WooT USCG!!! joining is the best thing you probaly ever would do with your life... like joey said, you go in strong and come out ripped! also you come out as a great swimmer and you can save lives and help others =) PT is toug in the coast guard. swimming a couple miles and running 8 miles everyday is a challenge to most. so if you do plan on joining the USCG then start pre training early, likke when your still in high school. also when you do get in you need to be dedicated to join cuz those

  • my dad is a chief for uscg

  • At the .24 mark, the kid you see in the basket? The part you didn't see was where he was treading water, for the last time, he was going under. The rescue swimmer went in and pulled him back to the surface. The kid had been treading water for hours and had just given up. As dramatic as it sounds, you can see the look on his face just before the flight mech patted him on the shoulder. He was safe and I'm sure will never forget that little orange helo for the rest of his life.

  • hahahahah at 1:41 is that sign added in digitally

  • underestimate us till you need us

  • I just got out of basic for USCG...Guys its the best choice you will ever make with your life. You come out Modivated, Dedicated, Ready for the Fleet. HOOORAH!!!!

  • Coast guard, now thats cool work! Being on the water is great and doing something usefull for your people at the sametime!

  • As a military brat- know what you're going through. Mothers suffer so much...thinking of joining the USCG myself after all these years-- along with my son! So proud of him, but worried sick at the same time...we mothers suffer, don't we? Be proud of your son...sounds like you did a good job, Mom!

  • I was in the US Army in Vietnam in 1969,yes we are called up on to protect our rights and our freedom so that like will stay in our BEAUTIFUL country

  • NIce video. Good mix of blackshoe and brownshoe (well, maybe a bit more brownshoe. Ha).

Nice seeling posts giving the USGG love. To those who want to go to Kodiak. It is the coolest place. I was an flight mech (AD) on HH3fs an could not believe they paid me extra to fly up there! Hanging out of the door doing SAR was the best job I've ever had. Looking back, I can't believe the crap we were doing in those helos at such a young age. Spemper Par!

  • I leave for Basic on July 8th, and I cant wait! :D

  • i hope your friend becomes a coast guard swimmer thats a pretty hard to become i know my cousin told me how hard it was so i hope your friend makes it

  • Semper Paratus. Good job coast guard. Can't wait to join up.

  • For all the men and woman with the "Coasties" that never seem to get the call on nice days. You go out serve and save when most shouldn't be where they are, doing what they are doing. A great big THANK YOU, for answering the call when the pickle is floating.

  • yea THANK YOU coast guard for being in new orleans after hurricane katrina

without yall being brave enough to go there it would have been horrible

  • I served in the Corps for six years. I am now a Costie through and through. I love training to save. Thank you to all my brothers and sisters on station and underway. You all make an old salt proud!

  • THEY deserve our respect for what they do! Nice tribute to these brave people

  • even though I hope to go in the marines thank you to ALL people in the US military for protecting us :)

  • I love how the initial warning didn't seem to stop whoever posted the video, seeing as it isn't supposed to be broadcasted for any purpose

  • hehe they showed the new go-fast boats(grey boat)

  • go-fast boats are cigarette or drug runner boats not the grey mlb's you saw

  • The grey thing was a Motor Life Boat they have 2 at Station Little Creek, Virginia

if they capsize they upright themselves

  • thats wat mlb stands for motor life boat

go-fast the guy said the mlb's were gofast boats go-fast cigarrette or drug runner boats)

  • great
