I guess this says something about our cultural priorities. As recently as 20 years ago, when people went to a foreign country, they were interested in seeing the mountain ranges, the historical buildings, the art, maybe experience some of their films or whatever. Now they just go point cameras at goofy junk in novelty stores. I guess when people are this deeply indoctrinated into consumer culture, their only frame of reference for experiencing another country is as a mindless consumer.

Totally agree, but worse than that, they buy all this worthless junk making the shop owners put up all their prices completly outpricing the locals and leaving them to shop in the cheap stores only. This makes the towns/cities nothing more than amusement parks for tourists completly reliant on the tourists money. Then when the tourists leave all the gimmick fashion shops close down leaving dead derelict streets. Everyone should be educated on how this kind of tourism really effects locals.

you can't film in there because like in all expensive stores they don't want you to as if people were allowed people would just walk in and film then walk out without actually purchasing anything and their would be overcrowding problems but you can buy the clothing shoes hats etc. there some people speak english there and its in Tokyo
