Actually, there is a widespread misconception this video propagates: Militia =/= US Army. A militia is an assortment of citizens who, when their country is in danger, organise themselves into an armed front against the attackers. The US Army is, in fact, unconstitutional - the founding fathers wanted a militia, not a military. So the reason they didn't confiscate any guns from civilians was because the civilian gun owners WERE the militia. Hope that makes sense :)
@PropagandaBuster Ah ha. I was wondering if it had some sort of symbolic meaning. If it hadn't, it struck me as a very odd place to store such a tool. Keep the videos coming. Though I don't always agree with every point you make(this video was pretty spot on, however) you seem very well informed and I've learned more than I do from watching most of the other Youtube videos out there.
i like you points, they are well thought out and expressed
however, i also love playing "devil's advocate", so i will use a rather common response to your question at 4:15 - 4:26 they did not confiscate guns back then because times were different, and people were alot less likely to just go out and shoot one another. Whereas today we have many, many criminals just waiting to get one up on your average joe.
A witness at today's nevada shooting said it was like something from "a third world country", well they got that right - the USA is the laughing stock of the world - insane levels of gun related deaths but they keep on happening and any attempts to change and become a proper society get shouted down by the morons "UNAMERICAN!" "SOCIALIST!" ad nauseum
The 2nd amendment does not put any restriction on the ARMS that people can bear. people are not citizens, citizens have privileges granted to them by corperatioin but people have birth rights that are supported by THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES REPUBLIC. WE have been invaded by the politicians that are repugnent to the constitution ie. members of the BAR.
The 2nd amendment does not put any restriction on the ARMS that people can bear. people are not citizens, citizens have privileges granted to them by corperatioin but people have birth rights that are supported by THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES REPUBLIC.
In Sweden during the cold war they banned a central gun registry. The people who owned guns was listed only at each local police station and the lists would be quickly destroyed in the event of an invasion. This was so that Soviet troops wouldn't know who had a rifle and who didn't. I don't think the usefulness of a good rifle during an invasion has decreased much since.
Also, don't believe the lies about Europe having no weapons, France is number 12 in the list of private gun ownership.
all i need to know is that if i have a gun for any or no reason, I get 5 years in federal prison. got a court date next month for saying a word. my theory: this country is full of weak losers and our leaders are just making the transition smooth to the new china. taking a few rights from a few now, more later, then more then more will keep people from getting their pussy asses killed by the chinese when they take charge.
Common sense should prevail here. Each of our forefathers were also gun owners, as were the vast majority back then. They used those weapons for self-defense, as well as hunting and sport.
If the 2nd Amendment was truly intended to limit guns to just the militia (disarm Americans), our forefathers would have been depriving themselves of the primary means of self-defense at the time - not forgeting a means to obtain food for the family.
"Had that decision gone the other way yesterday, that would have been the spark that would have exploded this Nation. Believe me when I tell you this."
That's what they blamed our Founding Father of committing.
freatork1....if they stopped free speech, or suspended those pesky search and seizure laws and stopped giving due process....would you call it terrorism if the Nation "exploded"?
Of all the existing State provisions at that time, only ONE contained the word "keep."
MASSACHUSETTS (October 25, 1780)
XVII. "The people have a right to keep and to bear arms for the common defence....; and the military power shall always be held in an exact subordination to the civil authority, and be governed by it."
And that is CLEARLY about a collective body bearing arms for the CIVIL defence.
Our Nazi leaders haven't figured out how to disarm the People as of yet. But I'm sure the "terrorist" tool will be used and some type of FEAR will be instilled into the sheeple. It's coming ... their working on it I'm sure..
The word militia is a gathering of the civil population that is armed and ready.....how will the militia get their guns if the civil population is not allowed to have guns.......
well done sir...great circumstantial support of the framer's intent. Bottom line, if they ever pass a law that disarms the masses, all they all accomplish is criminalizing the masses because most people will not ever comply with that one and allow themselves or their neighbors to be disarmed. So, piss off libs.
Look you do not under stand there are 4 justices that do not understand the Constitution. You know that dont you. Gun control laws can be crafted so that you need to pass a tests,
When the congress questions people at are to be appointed to supreme court they need to ask very pointed question the bill of rights, and how they interprets it. Then only approves these judges after they find judges that understand the Constitution believe in the citizens rights it protects.
Yay explosion! I currently live, to my utter dismay, in Atlanta Georgia. I went to a pawn shop down the street to hock some old games, and what did I see for sale on practically every assault rifle...a silencer. Sure let's own guns to defend ourselves from the tyranny we've enforced on others in ignorance and conquest. Sure let's keep the illusion of freedom and rights as they exist even when the times that supported such needs over-all are long gone. Nevermind, go polish your gun Jethro!
In some euro countries suppressors aren't controlled because they prevent hearing loss. how is a sound suppressor bad? I can tell you are ignorant about firearms. not trying to be mean, but you are.
Maybe we shouldn't have the first amendment because times that supported such needs are over-all gone.
I admit my knowledge about firearms is lacking, but my fear is sorely based on personal experiences. By the way have you ever been to Detroit? I grew up there, on the East side in the 80's during the crack epidemic. I saw a lot of things children should never see. My fear is that sound suppressing methods on firearms in the private sector is a bad idea. Just my opinion man, ignorant to some maybe, but it is my opinion.
In order to own a gun, with a silencer, you have to pay $200 and get an ATF backgroundcheck. To MY dismay you live near me. I bet you were against LAW-ABIDING, PERMIT CARRIERS having the right to carry to restaurants. I bet you used the same, tired old arguments that contain NO substance. It's been a a year and a half...you're still waiting on those arguments to come true...arentcha!?!? Won't stop you from making them again later, will it? The SKY IS FALLING!! THE SKY IS FALLING!!Jeez...u people
No I am for proper gun owner-ship and the right to carry in public...even in church, Why are you so dismayed that I live near you? Are you against free speech? For $500 or less you could say to hell with the ATF and get a silencer here in Atlanta, YOU should know that. My fear is that taking life for good or ill with such a tool is disgusting and should not be sold in any manner in the private/public sector. Once again, it's just my opinion. Profiling is not your strong suite.
I was dismayed because you came off as anti-gun and that you were dismayed at living in Atlanta, because of guns. YOU made it sound that way. People can say "to hell" with ANY law. That doesn't mean I should be punished for the actions of law breakers. A knife is even more quiet than a silenced gun. Would it be "disgusting" if I defended myself while such a tool? Should knives also be banned to the Pri/Pub sector? It's the same logic. And no, I don't listen to Aesop Rock.
Ah the pains of freedom of speech. No matter how ignorant or profane, I have the right to say what I want and so do you. I respect you for your opinions man and no uhm it would not be disgusting to defend yourself with a knife. I am unaware of a knife that can affect the same area that a bullet can, so the same logic? I 'm not the one to judge that. Do you listen to Pantera, or Sepultura?
Never said you shouldn't be able to say what you believe. Are you saying I can't disagree and respond to what you say? Freedom of Speech is a wonderful thing, but it only means the government can't prevent you from saying it. It doesn't give you the right to be heard. And I listen to Linkin Park, Seether, 3 Days Grace type of stuff.....mixed with Country.
I know you never said anything of that sort. Perhaps I should reiterate, I respect your opinions and YOUR RIGHT TO BE HEARD AS A HUMAN BEING no matter how we as HUMAN BEINGS may disagree is my meaning. I also only remarked to the pains of the positives and negatives of the idea that is freedom of speech, such as so, thus I know you have the right to "unhear" my words but none-the-less you responded to them just as I did so...word. By the way, Nobody's Listening.
In addendum it's great to see so many he-he blue collar and white collar mugs getting armed and educated and all that jazz. when the shit pops off, to use street terminology, I wonder, where will the chips fall? Some shall rise some shall fall. No one knows. But I'm sure you know don't ya Bubba-Ray!? That was uncalled for my apologies. Do you listen to Aesop Rock?
@orondeamir "Sure let's keep the illusion of freedom and rights as they exist..."
Here here! Too bad you weren't being sincere. Obviously I don't agree with the "illusion" part.
"...even when the times that supported such needs over-all are long gone."
What an incredibly naive and frankly scary statement. You would let a government take away all of your freedoms. I can only hope people don't think like you.
...O.k., sure. I'm glad people don't think like me too, cause if they did people like you wouldn't have anything else to do but to shoot each other...oh wait a minute...D'oh!
But we are being invaded by other countries...MEXICO...and when you shoot them because they are trying to rob you, you end up paying them alot of money...they aren't even citizens of this country, yet we give them our rights of this country! They came one vote away from starting another revolutionary war in this country. Vote constitutional party next time!
The definition of Militia is a non-paid citizen soldier who is fighting to protect their lands ... the founders saw this to be true, but when it comes to any paid professional soldier, they regaurded them as Mercinaries.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I say let these idiots keep their guns and forever be a beacon to the world of how NOT to have a gun culture. They have to live with the consequence : The plethora and obscenity of U.S. school, street, church, home, workplace and now even toyshop shootings...
Your a moron. I say, let us keep them, because you can't take them. Your in the UK, do you not have murder? No your a 42 year old fart, who dares to judge US politics? Why is that?
More men die per capita then in the USA from knives. Why is that? Because people kill people, not firearms. Seriously, read a book, believe facts, and grow a brain.
Too bad not everybody understands the 2nd amendment because they are so under-educated, but they think they are smart enough to argue on what the 2nd amendment means
I own 5 firearms at the moment, and I'll turn them over to the federal government when they pry them from my cold, dead hands... Well done, Tony! Beautiful defense for what is perhaps our most important amendment in the Bill of Rights. The right to bear arms should have been the first amendment instead of the second, considering that the first step to turning a free nation into a dictatorship is to disarm the people so that they can not resist the regime change and guard their freedoms.
I use that quote quite often myself, i live in Chicago, and believe me, liberals in control of government is no fucking picnic, of course i have my gripes with republicans as well but overall i would say liberals have a far more twisted prospective on life.
Thank you. I t hink it is no longer Democrats vs. Republicas as both parties are just as worthless for the most part. It is now liberals vs. conservatives.
I've lived in Texas for over several years no less no more. Got out before I was shot down by a random .44 LOL! (Please have a sense of humor.) These days Texas ain't as polite, even to those who act politely. But then again, I 'm a yankee...what was I thinking??!!
cool expo, nice conclusive debate, my problem is why this law is being picked at, when it cant be altered or touched,Keep your Firearms and Support Dr. Ron Paul 2nd ammendment "Right To Bear Arms" In accordance with your constitution. American Law, For All Of Time.Gettit 1,000,000 armed freemen can never be beaten
last year they passed a law in omaha nebraska to carry a concealed weapon with a permit. This year they are trying to ban handguns entirely and semi automatic weapons
Where I live - in the shadow of the White House - I don't see the police often enough to feel safe without a firearm in my home. The liberal assholes a trying to ban any dog you may own to keep you safe so you are fucked there.
I think our own militias - ensuring a free state - is highly dependent on the right to bear arms. At some point we will need them to fight of the bastards when they try to confiscate them.
im not American but my opinion is guns are not the problem. people wanting to kill each other is the problem. there are social problems that anti-gun people refuse to address. they are obsessed with taking away one particular tool that people use to kill each other. I find that very odd. I think Liberals in America are nuts.
Are you talking about a satnding army? That is a good question, I believe in the beginning they created a professional army from citizens to fight the British, and then that force would be dissolved either completely or to a small force once the war was over and independence established. Th debate over a standing army were one of many disagreements between the Federalists and Anti-federalists in the early history of our republic.
The reason I mentioned that the militia was originally meant to mean the citizens is the fact that the "gun grabbers," try to say that the second amendment was specifically talking about the National Guard or a professional army and therefore is a collective right.
Are you aware the Constitutional Convention was originally called to strengthen the Articles of Confederation? Because the National government had difficulty raising an army to defeat a rebellion. Thus the purpose of the convention was to address this issue, and of course they decided to scrap the Articles and replace them with our current Constitution.
Well yes, and to create a stronger national government with a greater ability to collect and raise taxes. However, shortly afterwards, once Washington became president, American politics split into two factions: Federalisits (Washington & Hamilton) & the Anti-federalists (Jefferson). One of their key disagreements was the idea of a standing army. Either way, the term "militia" refers to the citizens themselves. A citizen army.
@tuckamania76 I dont quite get your chain of thought. Because something was done in the past doesn't mean it's right now! Btw that doesn't mean I'm against guns. I'm pro guns!
Please go! The rest of us would be much better off without the area with the greatest amount of illiteracy, highest violent crime rates, divorce, etc. Oh, and return all the subsidies from the actual productive people.
Txguns, my advice... Sell the mini14 and your mags. It can't come close in accuracy with an AR15... even if you're a skilled rifleman. Buy a lower ($90-$100) from a dealer, and a parts kit for a 20" barrel A2 AR15 ($460 from Model 1 Sales for example) delivered to your doorstep. Also, get yourself some 30 round mags while you can.
Know this : .223 ammunition, AR lowers and parts kits, and mags are flying off the shelves. Seems like people ARE paying attention to our next election.
I'm planning on buying an accu-strut for my Mini-14. A few people I have talked to say that fixed the problem of the barrel whip from heat. But, I do agree with you. Thats why I am saving my money. I think around the time I have my car paid off, I will be getting in the mail my CHL, (3 or 4 months or so from now). By then, Ill be able to buy 2 AR-15's. If not more...
What is your opinion of the .308 models? I've heard many bad things about the AR-10 which is why I'm not getting one. But, I have also heard that both the DPMS AP4, and the RR LAR-8 are very reliable, and for the caliber are still fairly light. At least when compared to the AR-10. What do you think?
The AR-10... Shot a match up in Worland, WY 2 years ago, the guy who WON did so with an AR-10 with a broken bolt (It broke during the competition). But if you ask me, combining the pressures of the .308, a reciprocating bolt and carrier inside an aluminum upper, and lower connected to it by two little pins... you are going to get premature wear somewhere critical. The same goes for any aluminum AR-style design, like the AP4 and LAR (though the LAR uses some proprietary designs). (cont'd)
That's not to say you won't get satisfactory service out of one of these rifles... I guess what you see is only one man's opinion.
However, as for MY personal preferences - A Match grade M1A. Springfield Armory makes a decent rifle (though you'll hear a bunch about their investment cast receivers that go CLUNK! instead of PING!), they make a neat Carlos Hathcock M25 commemorative model (drool).
As for the election, I agree that if Obama wins, we are in trouble. McCain isn't much better...but if either of them wins, I can promise you that politicians don't have short memories concerning the backlash in 1994. Plus, we both know the AR is becoming more popular. Even if Obama wins, I don't think they'll go after the AR's that fast. Obama wants a second term, he's not stupid. But, they will try. For that reason, my arms are priority one.
Arms are a priority among many Americans right now. A few conversations I've had with online ammo dealers (Like JG Sales in Prescott, AZ), .223, 7.62 x 39, .308, 30-06 are FLYING off the shelves. Same goes for mags for ARs, AKs, and popular handguns. Parts and kits too. Myself, I recently moved up to a polymer pistol (SA XD45) with a 13 round mag, I'll be acquiring a bunch more mags for that. I've carried a Kimber 1911 (ProCarry) previously, with its "Clinton Approved" 7 or 8 round magazine.
The fact that these nice pistols are on any ban list is proof that liberalism is a disease that only targets the good, and favors those who don't give a rats ass about what the law is anyway.
Look at the UK, where a blackmarket machinegun is now only $200 or so. Only the criminals are free in the UK.
This guy's got a great point. The state of Montana sent a message in a brief to the supreme court, warning exactly what would happen if the decision had gone the other way. Mind you...I'm not talking about The Militia of Montana, Aryian nation, Freemen, or seperatists etc. I'm talking about OVER 30 ELECTED OFFICIALS! Look it up! Read it! It happened! They basically warned they would reserve the right to leave The Union!
A Yankee is one from the northern part of these here United States. A "damn" Yankee, is a Yankee who moves to the South and does not return north. I have bee a "damn" Yankee for the last 29 years.
The gun ownership should have been a no-brainer, but only passed 5-4.
In the next 8 yrs we can expect at least 3 justices to retire/die, so the next president will be able to significantly impact the shape of the court. So...think carefully when deciding who to vote for in November.
Check out the Youtube vid on Obama's explanation of who he'll select for the court.
Hi PropagandaBuster. you have a clear, funny, accurate explanation of the 2nd ammend. and SU ruling and you provide both interpretations of it in "more info" section (militia vs individual right). However, a vote for Obama is not a vote against our constitution. He taught constitutional law at the Univ. of Chicago and he was president of the Harvard Law Review. He believes the 2nd ammend. is an individual right but, subject to common sense restrictions like private property and zoning laws.
Thank you for your compliment. Obama supports the 2nd amendment, but what about the rest of the Constitution? His admirable academic achievements are impressive. But no way guarantee an appreciation for our Constitution. Remember, four justices on the Supreme Court did not get this ruling on the 2nd amendment right.
Historically, McCain has consistently supported gun owners in his voting record, although he did flub a few times with the so-called "Gun Show Loophole". On the other hand, when you look at Obama's record, he has consistently opposed the rights of gun owners with a perfect 100% score. I don't know of the Democrats changed their party platform, but draconian gun control was part of Democrat Party policy the last time I read through it.
"Action" always brings "reaction" and I do strongly believe after reading what commies say, "reaction" must be taken by whoever find something wrong. The one you have tried to discuss, is a good example for the "reaction" purpose.
Absolutely helping McAmnesty, because all comments from commies are not suitable for the most of people.
Why do you think that people would "explode" if they had their second amendment was taken away? Bush has been stripping the hell out of the US Constitution for 7+ years and no one has exploded. He took away Habeas Corpus. He is deeply involved in North American Union talks. He has pardoned serious felons from their crimes and commuted prison sentences. He committed illegal phone tapping.
He launched an illegal, unprovoked, preemptive strike on a country violating massive amounts of international and domestic laws. He is committing genocide. He condones torture. He consistently violates the Geneva Convention. He wipes his ass with the US Constitution and calls it "just an old piece of paper". He signed a bill making him a dictator. He does all this and no one explodes.
Why would people explode over the itsy-bitsy second amendment sense it is worthless anyway. It is meant to stop tyrants like Bush and the Congress and it hasn't been used for that. No one would explode.
At this point-in-time Bush could stand up on FOX News in the Oval Office with the original US Constitution in his ass, pass gas and light it turning it to ash and the fat, pacified, complacent, McDonnalds eating, Starbucks sipping imbeciles wouldn't even know the difference... Most of 'em wouldn't even know what the US Constitution was let alone what it means or says...
My older sister and brother has guns. I don't feel comfortable around guns. They can accidentally go off and hit me. Went to gun range once with Michelle, she had to drop me off close to the range. She convinced me 2 take a look. Went in 5 minutes, and walked the street where I had to be. Michelle is afraid of spiders and feels uncomfortable having spiders around her. 8 eyes, 8 legs scares her. I have it with guns. I'm afraid it to go off go and kill me or paralyze me. I want Congress to ban it.
if it went the other way, the state of Montana would have seceded from the Union. They had already written to the Supreme Court that their failure to uphold the 2nd amendment would result in a breach of contract, and the state would have left the union on that grounds.
That is what this man is talking about right now...
cowboycar104: You are absolutely correct! That is why I said had the decision gone the other way, it would have been the spark to cause this nation to blow up. I knew once Montana left the Union, so would other states have followed, Texas being one of them. I feel strongly Justice Kennedy would have ruled the other way had it not been for Montana.
The ruling should have been 9 - 0 in favor to keep the 2nd amendment. Why ? Because it's in The Constitution, but I will rally for Congress and Obama to change The Constitution and to remove the 2nd amendment by legal means. A Democratic Congress with Obama can do that.
You're still here? You did not move further west? But I do admire your respect for the constitution and determination to change the law constitutionally. I need to remind you if Obama and the Democrats win both houses of Congress, that is just a drop in a bucket. It also takes two-third's of the states to ratify a Constitutional amendment. I feel rather confident that will never happen. Still not too late to move further west.
I'm a law abiding citizen and we must change laws the legal way. The 4 judges that voted against the 2nd amendment were wrong because it is well written in The Constitution that we have the right to bear arms, this doesn't mean I have to agree. The same Constitution allows me to have my free speech and rally, petition or vote for a legal change in any law, including The Constitution. It's my right as a citizen. GOP will lose more seats in Senate by November.
I would always defend your right of free speech when exercised responsibly as you have. The GOP can lose both Houses of Congress and The Oval Office, that still will not change the 2nd amendment.
Thank you, but the Constitution can be changed by the states OR by Congress ! Bush wanted an amendment banning same sex marriage and wanted it through Congress, states were not needed. Congress blocked it. When we have enough liberals in Congress we can change it.
Supreme Court can interpret Constitution but not change it, still dunno why 4 voted interpreted Constitution wrong, it's very clearly written. Congress + president can change it too, not the states needed.
How do you know that the 2nd amendment will not be repealed in our life times ? Remember that over 75% of young voters are liberal and we're the future. We will eventually make America into something like Europe since Europe has much better system regarding to civil rights, social security and safety. And SF is 95% or even more liberal, I was born in the right city ! Still live in SF. SFSU is very liberal too !
Are you aware out of all the demographics the young in the USA have the lowest voting record? Also have you lived among the people of America not on the West or East coast? Guns are as part of the American culture and always will be. We are not Europe, and never will be. Europe for the Europeans, and America for gun carrying Americans.
The young has low voting records until now. Obama has appealed many of us young and new voters. He is the only president ever willing to listen to our concerns. I voted Obama in the primaries too. I'm a volunteer for his campaign so are both my sisters. We plan to go to swing states and register voters, handing out flyers. Michelle has a PPL and will spread flyers by C - 172. I have never lived outside SF. Obama promised to withdraw troops.
Ask yourself this why is it that France and germany just passed laws allowing their citizens to own certain firearms that we here in the states can have. I will give you a clue they are very scarry guns as stated by our liberal left. Go find out about the recent MP44 manufacturing plant that is making copies of WWII firearms. Please like anything else a firearm is a tool it will not go off by itself period learn to use one and respect it like anything that may cause harm (i.E.Car,knife,scissors)
The most of "progressive Moonbats" are not in favour of removing the gun rights. Of course, there are some socialists or communists Moonbats wrongly elected in 2006.
the DC has been very liberal, and yes, despite the capital of civil servants, security has been very bad. The reason? why? Maybe liberals can govern nowhere.
takasito: The liberal civil servants (bureaucrats) who work in Washington DC, know their liberal policies are failures that is why they do not live in Washington, DC. The live in the suburbs administered by conservatives and safer for their families.
IMHO taking away the right owning guns is stupid not only in the respect that it takes away a right guaranteed by the constitution, but you might as well say no one can own kitchen knives or switchblades, because people can use those to hurt and kill others as well. (wasn't there a stabbing spree in tokyo a week or two ago? japan didn't outlaw knives...)
WarriorYor: As President Ronald Reagan said, "there you go again." You were doing good till your last paragraph with your attempted back handed insult at Takasito and myself. Now can you review with me how you are an "ally" as you claimed a few days earlier?
They didnt call for the confiscation of weapons because they knew the circumstances changes with the times. Per your example, during the 30's europe was being engulfed by nazi-fascists. Today it may not be realistic that America wont be invaded by a foreign power. However, not everyone has the time to work out and take karate lessons, so a hand gun is the best equalizer in a confrontation with someone who has little regard for human life. Its all about self defense plain and simple. Good video
nah real professional underground outlaws use unregistered light arms.
What I wanted to notice was gang will obtain weapons even it will be illegal and the ordinal people will have no rights to protect themself (no need for abusing the rights).
I begin to understand. Though i'm not american and still can't understand the need for guns in private hands. But if disarmory means you're helpless against the powers to be, i understand you're viewpoint.
KtBdOKW, I responded to a call from my security alarm monitoring company this morning at 3:30AM that the alarm at my shop was going off. It took me 17 minutes to get there. As I was locking the shop back up and leaving the police were just pulling in to respond to the alarm even though by this time they had been contacted over twenty minutes before. With response times like that you cannot rely on the police for your own protection.
Likewise, do you notice where most of these shooting en masse occur? Mostly at places where guns are forbidden. That's because criminals and crazies know they won't be opposed at these places by gun carrying citizens. Gun control laws only regulate law abiding citezens which by their nature are not a threat anyway. The best protection afforded the people is to allow resposible citizens to arm themselves. After all, when was the last time you heard of someone being mugged at the range?
It's the same for me. I live on the countryside. Even if i call the police, it takes them 15 minutes to arrive at best. So,i'm on my own to fight whatever threat might show up.But due strict gunlaws in Germany most violent crimes are commited with knifes or even bare fists. So you have at least a fighting chance if you're able to know how to fight.
Remember Erfurt school shooting case. Registration or any restrict on firearms do not prevent freakos or just copy cats abusing the rights. Liberals want to abandon only because they do not know about criminology. US serious crime rate has been dropping mainly because of ZERO tolerance in several states as well as better economy. In other words, the Gun rights have very little to do with real causes of serious crimes.
I am absolutely appalled by the fact that 4 justices ruled against the 2nd amendment. Congress should petition for removal of these justices. If Barak Hussein Osama gets voted in we may just get another communist justice, and God help us then. That vote should have been 9-0 in favor of the 2nd amendment.
Even the British didn't control guns in the American colonies. That's one thing that should always be considered. As well as a nation cannot always provide security and in times of great distress it is not ones right but obligation to and duty to right injustice.
WarriorYor: sure some form, but had they ruled against the 2nd amendment, it could have led to sweeping laws against gun ownership, and many Americans would not have accepted it. Besides one northern state was waiting for the results of this decision, had it gone the other way, that state's legislature were ready to pass legislation leaving the United States. And the dominos started to fall....

Of all the existing State provisions at that time, only ONE contained the word "keep."
MASSACHUSETTS (October 25, 1780)

Just my opinion man, ignorant to some maybe, but it is my opinion.

evolutionist101 2 years ago
No I am for proper gun owner-ship and the right to carry in public...even in church, Why are you so dismayed that I live near you? Are you against free speech? For $500 or less you could say to hell with the ATF and get a silencer here in Atlanta, YOU should know that. My fear is that taking life for good or ill with such a tool is disgusting and should not be sold in any manner in the private/public sector. Once again, it's just my opinion. Profiling is not your strong suite.
orondeamir 2 years ago
I was dismayed because you came off as anti-gun and that you were dismayed at living in Atlanta, because of guns. YOU made it sound that way. People can say "to hell" with ANY law. That doesn't mean I should be punished for the actions of law breakers. A knife is even more quiet than a silenced gun. Would it be "disgusting" if I defended myself while such a tool? Should knives also be banned to the Pri/Pub sector? It's the same logic. And no, I don't listen to Aesop Rock.
evolutionist101 2 years ago
Ah the pains of freedom of speech. No matter how ignorant or profane, I have the right to say what I want and so do you. I respect you for your opinions man and no uhm it would not be disgusting to defend yourself with a knife. I am unaware of a knife that can affect the same area that a bullet can, so the same logic? I 'm not the one to judge that. Do you listen to Pantera, or Sepultura?
orondeamir 2 years ago
Never said you shouldn't be able to say what you believe. Are you saying I can't disagree and respond to what you say? And I listen to Linkin Park, Seether, 3 Days Grace type of stuff.....mixed with Country.
evolutionist101 2 years ago
I know you never said anything of that sort. Perhaps I should reiterate, I respect your opinions and YOUR RIGHT TO BE HEARD AS A HUMAN BEING no matter how we as HUMAN BEINGS may disagree is my meaning. I also only remarked to the pains of the positives and negatives of the idea that is freedom of speech, such as so, thus I know you have the right to "unhear" my words but none-the-less you responded to them just as I did so...word. By the way, Nobody's Listening.

The "militia" was the citizenry. Americans were afraid of a standing army.
tuckamania76 3 years ago
tuckamania76: Then why did President George Washington establish one?
PropagandaBuster 3 years ago
Are you talking about a satnding army? That is a good question, I believe in the beginning they created a professional army from citizens to fight the British, and then that force would be dissolved either completely or to a small force once the war was over and independence established. Th debate over a standing army were one of many disagreements between the Federalists and Anti-federalists in the early history of our republic.
tuckamania76 3 years ago
The reason I mentioned that the militia was originally meant to mean the citizens is the fact that the "gun grabbers," try to say that the second amendment was specifically talking about the National Guard or a professional army and therefore is a collective right.
tuckamania76 3 years ago
Are you aware the Constitutional Convention was originally called to strengthen the Articles of Confederation? Because the National government had difficulty raising an army to defeat a rebellion. Thus the purpose of the convention was to address this issue, and of course they decided to scrap the Articles and replace them with our current Constitution.
PropagandaBuster 3 years ago
Well yes, and to create a stronger national government with a greater ability to collect and raise taxes. However, shortly afterwards, once Washington became president, American politics split into two factions: Federalisits (Washington & Hamilton) & the Anti-federalists (Jefferson). One of their key disagreements was the idea of a standing army. Either way, the term "militia" refers to the citizens themselves. A citizen army.
tuckamania76 3 years ago
I think we agree with one another.
PropagandaBuster 3 years ago
I think we do too. Keep up the good work.

"Arms in the hands of citizens (may) be used at individual discretion...in private self defence." John Adams
"No Free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." Thomas Jefferson

If those quotes don't define the true meaning of the second amendment as our founding fathers intended, I don't know what does.

txngasnguns 3 years ago
Txguns, my advice... Sell the mini14 and your mags. It can't come close in accuracy with an AR15... even if you're a skilled rifleman. Buy a lower ($90-$100) from a dealer, and a parts kit for a 20" barrel A2 AR15 ($460 from Model 1 Sales for example) delivered to your doorstep. Also, get yourself some 30 round mags while you can.
Know this : .223 ammunition, AR lowers and parts kits, and mags are flying off the shelves. Seems like people ARE paying attention to our next election.
Just my $.02.
MasterSgtSlappy 3 years ago
I'm planning on buying an accu-strut for my Mini-14. A few people I have talked to say that fixed the problem of the barrel whip from heat. But, I do agree with you. Thats why I am saving my money. I think around the time I have my car paid off, I will be getting in the mail my CHL, (3 or 4 months or so from now). By then, Ill be able to buy 2 AR-15's. If not more...

MasterSgtSlappy 3 years ago
What is your opinion of the .308 models? I've heard many bad things about the AR-10 which is why I'm not getting one. But, I have also heard that both the DPMS AP4, and the RR LAR-8 are very reliable, and for the caliber are still fairly light. At least when compared to the AR-10. What do you think?
txngasnguns 3 years ago
The AR-10... Shot a match up in Worland, WY 2 years ago, the guy who WON did so with an AR-10 with a broken bolt (It broke during the competition). But if you ask me, combining the pressures of the .308, a reciprocating bolt and carrier inside an aluminum upper, and lower connected to it by two little pins... you are going to get premature wear somewhere critical. The same goes for any aluminum AR-style design, like the AP4 and LAR (though the LAR uses some proprietary designs). (cont'd)
MasterSgtSlappy 3 years ago
Damn. Can't have that.
txngasnguns 3 years ago
That's not to say you won't get satisfactory service out of one of these rifles... I guess what you see is only one man's opinion.
However, as for MY personal preferences - A Match grade M1A. Springfield Armory makes a decent rifle (though you'll hear a bunch about their investment cast receivers that go CLUNK! instead of PING!), they make a neat Carlos Hathcock M25 commemorative model (drool).
MasterSgtSlappy 3 years ago
As for the election, I agree that if Obama wins, we are in trouble. McCain isn't much better...but if either of them wins, I can promise you that politicians don't have short memories concerning the backlash in 1994. Plus, we both know the AR is becoming more popular. Even if Obama wins, I don't think they'll go after the AR's that fast. Obama wants a second term, he's not stupid. But, they will try. For that reason, my arms are priority one.
txngasnguns 3 years ago
MasterSgtSlappy 3 years ago
The fact that these nice pistols are on any ban list is proof that liberalism is a disease that only targets the good, and favors those who don't give a rats ass about what the law is anyway.

He believes the 2nd ammend. is an individual right but, subject to common sense restrictions like private property and zoning laws.
cosmoladj 3 years ago
Thank you for your compliment. Obama supports the 2nd amendment, but what about the rest of the Constitution? His admirable academic achievements are impressive. But no way guarantee an appreciation for our Constitution. Remember, four justices on the Supreme Court did not get this ruling on the 2nd amendment right.
PropagandaBuster 3 years ago
Historically, McCain has consistently supported gun owners in his voting record, although he did flub a few times with the so-called "Gun Show Loophole". On the other hand, when you look at Obama's record, he has consistently opposed the rights of gun owners with a perfect 100% score. I don't know of the Democrats changed their party platform, but draconian gun control was part of Democrat Party policy the last time I read through it.

cowboycarl04 3 years ago
cowboycar104: You are absolutely correct! That is why I said had the decision gone the other way, it would have been the spark to cause this nation to blow up. I knew once Montana left the Union, so would other states have followed, Texas being one of them. I feel strongly Justice Kennedy would have ruled the other way had it not been for Montana.

do you own a gun propagana?
BandOnTheRun87 3 years ago
Why do you ask?
PropagandaBuster 3 years ago
The ruling should have been 9 - 0 in favor to keep the 2nd amendment. Why ? Because it's in The Constitution, but I will rally for Congress and Obama to change The Constitution and to remove the 2nd amendment by legal means. A Democratic Congress with Obama can do that.
YES WE CAN !!!
AND WE WILL !!!
jacquelineveronique 3 years ago
You're still here? You did not move further west? But I do admire your respect for the constitution and determination to change the law constitutionally. I need to remind you if Obama and the Democrats win both houses of Congress, that is just a drop in a bucket. It also takes two-third's of the states to ratify a Constitutional amendment. I feel rather confident that will never happen. Still not too late to move further west.
PropagandaBuster 3 years ago
I'm a law abiding citizen and we must change laws the legal way. The 4 judges that voted against the 2nd amendment were wrong because it is well written in The Constitution that we have the right to bear arms, this doesn't mean I have to agree. The same Constitution allows me to have my free speech and rally, petition or vote for a legal change in any law, including The Constitution. It's my right as a citizen. GOP will lose more seats in Senate by November.
jacquelineveronique 3 years ago
I would always defend your right of free speech when exercised responsibly as you have. The GOP can lose both Houses of Congress and The Oval Office, that still will not change the 2nd amendment.
PropagandaBuster 3 years ago
Thank you, but the Constitution can be changed by the states OR by Congress ! Bush wanted an amendment banning same sex marriage and wanted it through Congress, states were not needed. Congress blocked it. When we have enough liberals in Congress we can change it.
Supreme Court can interpret Constitution but not change it, still dunno why 4 voted interpreted Constitution wrong, it's very clearly written. Congress + president can change it too, not the states needed.
jacquelineveronique 3 years ago
Meaning, we will still have our guns because no Constitutional amendment taking that right away will ever pass in both our life times.
PropagandaBuster 3 years ago
How do you know that the 2nd amendment will not be repealed in our life times ? Remember that over 75% of young voters are liberal and we're the future. We will eventually make America into something like Europe since Europe has much better system regarding to civil rights, social security and safety. And SF is 95% or even more liberal, I was born in the right city ! Still live in SF. SFSU is very liberal too !
jacquelineveronique 3 years ago
Are you aware out of all the demographics the young in the USA have the lowest voting record? Also have you lived among the people of America not on the West or East coast? Guns are as part of the American culture and always will be. We are not Europe, and never will be. Europe for the Europeans, and America for gun carrying Americans.
PropagandaBuster 3 years ago

The reason? why? Maybe liberals can govern nowhere.
takasito 3 years ago
takasito: The liberal civil servants (bureaucrats) who work in Washington DC, know their liberal policies are failures that is why they do not live in Washington, DC. The live in the suburbs administered by conservatives and safer for their families.

yeah some sorts of Vigilantes formed by all justice workers in the DC.... surely will eliminate the most of homicides.
The truth is, rich servants do not live in DC.

Good video

Takasito, you mean gangs are currently using legally obtained guns??
hardtarget22 3 years ago
nah real professional underground outlaws use unregistered light arms.
What I wanted to notice was gang will obtain weapons even it will be illegal and the ordinal people will have no rights to protect themself (no need for abusing the rights).
takasito 3 years ago
I begin to understand. Though i'm not american and still can't understand the need for guns in private hands. But if disarmory means you're helpless against the powers to be, i understand you're viewpoint.
Very informative, thx for the upload.

With response times like that you cannot rely on the police for your own protection.
hardtarget22 3 years ago
Likewise, do you notice where most of these shooting en masse occur? Mostly at places where guns are forbidden. That's because criminals and crazies know they won't be opposed at these places by gun carrying citizens. Gun control laws only regulate law abiding citezens which by their nature are not a threat anyway. The best protection afforded the people is to allow resposible citizens to arm themselves. After all, when was the last time you heard of someone being mugged at the range?
hardtarget22 3 years ago
It's the same for me. I live on the countryside. Even if i call the police, it takes them 15 minutes to arrive at best. So,i'm on my own to fight whatever threat might show up.But due strict gunlaws in Germany most violent crimes are commited with knifes or even bare fists. So you have at least a fighting chance if you're able to know how to fight.
KtBdOKW 3 years ago
Kt
Remember Erfurt school shooting case. Registration or any restrict on firearms do not prevent freakos or just copy cats abusing the rights. Liberals want to abandon only because they do not know about criminology. US serious crime rate has been dropping mainly because of ZERO tolerance in several states as well as better economy. In other words, the Gun rights have very little to do with real causes of serious crimes.
takasito 3 years ago
I agree, but ZERO tolerance is a foreign concept in Germany. Here the gangsters seem to have more rights than the victims.
The damn 68th Generation is in charge now. They try to "understand" and excuse the criminals more than they feel for the victims.
Just cracy.

I am absolutely appalled by the fact that 4 justices ruled against the 2nd amendment. Congress should petition for removal of these justices. If Barak Hussein Osama gets voted in we may just get another communist justice, and God help us then. That vote should have been 9-0 in favor of the 2nd amendment.
numba1stunna4269 3 years ago
Even the British didn't control guns in the American colonies. That's one thing that should always be considered. As well as a nation cannot always provide security and in times of great distress it is not ones right but obligation to and duty to right injustice.

wtf??? who da fuck are you? and don't u think i kno that? i was talkin to tony
stevieola33 3 years ago
WarriorYor: sure some form, but had they ruled against the 2nd amendment, it could have led to sweeping laws against gun ownership, and many Americans would not have accepted it. Besides one northern state was waiting for the results of this decision, had it gone the other way, that state's legislature were ready to pass legislation leaving the United States. And the dominos started to fall....
