Danke Luciano Pavarotti, danke Pietro Mascagni. Ich bin glücklich seine unverkennbare und große Stimme auch nach seinem Ableben hören zu dürfen und danke Gott für die Begabung, die er ihm geschenkt hat.
None of those guys were right for this role. It's a special role that's been adapted by the microphones for these lighter weight fake voices that should be singing Donizetti.
Un'interpretazione magnifica, degna della più grande tradizione italiana. Intonazione perfetta, quadratura del ritmo, meravigliosa condotta della frase. Complimenti MAESTRO PAVAROTTI ovunque tu sia!!!
"The aria is too heavy for Pavarotti"?! What in the hell?! You're saying that Domingo with his baritone voice can do this better? You're joking! This aria was not perfect suited for Pav's voice, but certainly not too heavy. He did it marvelous. The world really is full of stupid people. There are not many tenors who could do this aria so good as Pav did it. And if somebody is acclaiming something different, I'm Queen Elisabeth!

Domingo has a rich baritonal voice.Yes his voice is more appropriate than the reedy voice of light lyric tenors like Pavarotti just listen how vanished went his voice at 3:17 although miced.Plus his phrasing is no match for Domingo.
Hahaha, vanished? There's a pause, and the phrase supposed to get silently so there's absolutely nothing wrong with his phrasing, you can't in no case say it's worse than Domingo's.
With all due respect, every musician (including singers) has their own way to perform a certain piece. Remember, music is subjective. What do you think?
"INCLUDING SINGERS" Sorry Pablo but, to put Pavarotti in with the "SIngers" My God what an insult to the greatest tenor of the twentieth century ,and so far the
it's not too heavy. If you don't like the lighter color that Pavarotti had, that's one thing. But his voice cuts plenty to get over a verismo orchestra. Pav is definitely a full-throated singer, he just is a different fach than the spinto/dramatic tenors you mention below. It's still convincing to me because of how musically and dramatically sung it is.
There is no tenor better than Pavarotti. He is my favorite, someone else can have another favorite, but do not say anyone is better than Luciano Pavarotti, that is a LIE. Pavaortti's voice of sunshine, his diction, his pharasing alone make him the one to learn from more than any other...and that is the only reason its important; who do the successors learn from the most! I say Pavarotti.
would have loved to see him on stage in this role!!! such a shame that breslin took these roles from him and decided to throw him into any stadium possible in the early 80's!!

I know, you are one of them.
The music is too heavy for Pavarotti. Unfortunately you don't understand anything about the tenor voice, so for you this is a good
rendition.
For anyone else who wants a passionate, full throat singing listen to MDM, Corelli, Gigli and Bergonzi.
Heck even Domingo is much better in this aria.
I don't know why u bring up the turkish crap you wrote.....
ali1082 2 years ago
I agree. His voice is great but has not the right dramatic expression for this aria. See also gomongio...
