  • Sorry if this a weird question, but shoud the use of a minor or C major be used? as you have stated, counterpoint is the use of melodies, a minor and C major are observations of harmony. So would one need to examine the intervalic relationships with each the other lines? or is the relationship with the cantos firmus the important observation?

  • ugly counterpoint, I'm sorry. There are mistakes, many mistakes. You have to buy a good manual of counterpoint and you have to study it. The fourth did not bind (bar 2 fourth quarter oboe) and so on. You have to study.

  • Mr. Pino, I enjoy constructive feedback and yours is not. I have a lot of good counterpoint manuals and have studied them deeply. Before commenting you should read the video description ("it wasn't prepared...there are a few mistakes..."). If you can improvise florid four voice counterpoint without "mistakes" you should become a teacher (I'm not, just a simple musician).

Anyway my favourite composer is Magister Perotinus Magnus and I really can't get rid of medieval habits in my counterpoint ;)

  • thank you so much!
