Well, its obvious Matt did not grow up with animals. You have to feel and communicate with the animals energy. Feeling attuned to the trees and natural springs is not enough. Clearly there is some work for you here.

Its not cruel when the communion is 1 of joy, respect & appreciation. U KNOW if that horse doesnt want the communion of U & she experiencing a life experience together.

Animals love intereaction with loving humans - Look how dolphins come & B with humans, they love 2B played with, ridden & they will come 2B with the joy of birthing mothers also.

I feel its cool to feel an intimacy with the animal life around your love space :)

Horse back riding is sooo super fun!!! I am sure you guys will enjoy it!! Have a great time!! It is definitely better when they have the 'frenos' the man was talking about when you're starting, because that way the horse doesn't start running super fast and you're safer :) <3 <3 <3 Peace

@snipsnapparty Riding horses is not vegan whatsoever. Nor is it animal friendly. I sure wouldn't want someone riding around on my back and pulling my hair.. (no jokes please ; Go to VeganFaq.com where it talks about the cruelty of riding other animals and using them as entertainment.

Steering a horse mainly comes from your seat bones and legs. You can steer a horse without reins. I've worked with horses for a living and have owned, shown and been regularly taking formal lessons for the past 17 years. It has always been my biggest passion. Despite all that, I must say, you wouldn't catch me approaching an unknown horse, wearing only a halter, attempting to ride, or even mount. Be safe, Matt. Enjoy your ride!

I'm the same way! I've ridden horses before and I want to do so again but it seems a bit cruel and inconsiderate of the horse. I think I'll walk instead!
