backdraft was a good fire fighter movie but my dad said in his 20 years of service and still going he said he and his buddies never faced a fire like the ones in that movie sure he saw some explosions but most of it was hollywood effects not really what the men and women in the firedepartment really see

@longcut93 come on, it wasn't focused on the realism. It was a fun story dude, and it's a classic firefighting movie. The guys in my company know it almost by heart
