Of course there was sexual tension between Steve and Venus, as much as you could have in a kids' show in the early 60s. Even though Steve sounds American and Venus sounds French, this was actually a British -made show, and they can have a little more edge in some of those areas... but it was innocent sexual tension (listen to the lyrics of the closing theme song).
