i ahve has a yzf 450 and a crf 450x and i have got to say Honda was the better bike... i had no wrench time and never broke down on me....the yzf broke down many times... had a weak egine structure(lets say i hit a big rock or i ran into something that hit the egine/Transmission it would break /chip off) so HONDA ALL THE WAY!!!!!!
the yz450f and the crf450x are 2 very diffrent bike.... the crf450x is made for trail riding more than competition.. the yz is a competition bike. you cant really compare them. if you want to compare the crf450x to another bike, compare it to the wr450, klx450r,drz400 or the ktm 450 xcf-w.
@charlieforest16 it really comes down to the rider not the bike plus the crf450x are just so baddass that yes i confidently can say that i would smash on you with my 450x

I was there 6 times on top of dune 7 with my yfz 450 and im going again on 25th of april 2009 and will also reach the top of dune 45. I have 495 kit on my yfz now and there is plenty of power now, remember i don`t go up with the speed from behind and do`nt go side way. I stand close to the dune and goes right up without chage the gear back to 4th.

Dune 7 is not the highest dune in Namibia. The highest dune is dune 45 and it about double the size of dune 7,I was almost on top of dune 45 only need about 15 meters to reach the top, only yamaha yfz 450 can do it, the one I went with.
Ahh, Dune 7..I was born in Windhoek, lived in Walvis Bay since age 11 and climbed Dune 7 enough times to remember how breath taking it can be, especially the view from the top. Dune 7 is one of the tallest dunes in the world.
I really miss Walvis Bay. I'm now living in the UK, but visit my family & friends & Dune 7at least once a year. Next time I visit Dune 7, I'll bike it all the way up instead! ;-)
