thank you Chuck... excellent idea and presentation... playing improv for Scripture reading, as a backdrop to prayer, meditation, and Holy Communion is one of my favorite ways to make music... I have found that playing a motif based on the previous worship tune helps maintain continuity, and that a soft pad sound under the piano helps me play less and let the harmonic movement speak... I know its good when the pastor praying and me playing are in "sync" and end together tied as one.
