And that car handles like utter dog shit on the street. Its a long travel sand car made to look like something its not. And what its not, is a super car. Btw thats an albins tranny in there. These one off builders dont have to meet emissions standards like real auto manufactures. Gives them much more freedom of design.

@AntDX316 typically you wont see much more than 1300hp. Depends on the size of turbos and what type of fuel its tuned to run on. If its a pump gas engine, you wont see much more than 700hp.

@AntDX316 1200hp v12 is sort of a play on numbers. It makes "1200hp" because it has 50% more cylinders and turns a much higher rpm. Torque is the true measure of work. Hp is just how many times a second that torque occurs. Thats why a 600hp honda with 250ft/lbs of torque is about as fast a 350hp v8 with 400ft/lbs of torque. The transmissions are geared very differently to compensate for the powerband. Ever wonder why 1000hp lambos are so damn slow? Now you know.

@AntDX316 It really has nothing to do with the "strength" of the build. The bugatti veyron is up there in the 1200hp mark. You wouldnt likely make 600 on a pump gas honda either...But it has been done. Think of a motorcycle engine, sure it makes 180hp but would it be fast in a 2800lbs civic? Not likely. Remember HP=TORQUE X RPM / 5252. Hp is just an arbitrary number invented to help sell cars. :) If you make a tiny amount of tq but turn 15,000rpm it will look like alot of hp, but still be slow

Lots of hp no torque lends itself to top speed with slow accel off the line {lambo} Lots of tq lower hp quick to accel but slower speeds {cts-v} The more fuel you can burn at the proper ratio of air will always mean more power....duh :) Its all a numbers game..but really matters is performance!

@AntDX316 Something like that yes, torque is the overall strenght of the car and so you can have longer gearing for it. A very torquey engine is not good however in a light car if all you want is speed. That is because you often tend to have a larger stroke in the engine to get more torque, but that means you get less effect (horse power) which is alot more important. A big buggy like this though with heavy duty suspension needs alot of torque.

@AntDX316 Almost, but not quite. Having less displacement does not mean that you have a larger bore/shorter stroke-ratio. But generally, a smaller engine will rev more and so make more horse power compared to torque. So basically the smaller engine you have the smaller the difference between power gets, but larger the difference in torque gets. That said though, more displacement is most often more power. I am however no master in this subject, you should ask on an engine forum or something. :)
