I know you probably already sold this, but I was wondering if this is a good piece for a starting DJ. I have a wedding gig set for June 2010 and have always used vinyl turntables (and the same mixer you had in the video). I have a rack mount mixer from Denon that is unbelievable for the price I paid, but I need a good dual CD deck. If not this one, what else would you recommend?

Nice vid mate, I sold my CDJ-800Mk2's and going to buy one of these, I never use the scratch on the 800 and need a rack mount unit so this looks like a great buy to me, the hot cues and 0.02% pitch resolution are the real stars though on this. I'll be building my self a new dj console in the summer and this will go in it with an Allen & Heath VF-1 woo I can't wait lol

Lol my bad correction 0.05% pitch resolution on the CMX-3000, I thought cos it had the 6%+/- it would be like the CDJ-1000 but it's not :-( oh well still a great product

To all those mp3 useres:

Pioneer brings the MEP-7000, a double-deck "media-player". I'm sad about this, because they will discontinue the CMX-3000 for that thing.

In my scene (Goa-, Psychedelic- and Progressive-Trance), mp3 kills the "hardwork". These bastards show up with their gear, press some buttons and start doing their joints and pills and do not touch the equipment again until the moment, they leave the party.

This sucks....

Nice Video Nygel. But I can't understand why you would sell this player? I'm a DJ by myself and I own the CMX-3000 and DJM-3000 (packed in an SKB-Shuttle) and I take it with me on every gig I go to. I played virtually every Pioneer-Setup (DJM-500, 600 700 and 800 connected to either CDJ-100 (*puke*), 200, 400 (why is everyone so fancy about this fucker?), 800mk2 (nice gear, but WAY to expensive and 1000mk2, 3) and NOTHING has the handyness, the 3000-combo gives you at hand.

Chrischan74 - I sold it because I had to move, and was spending WAAYYY to much shipping everything (hawaii to the mainland). I wanted to pick up an additional 800, so selling it seemed like the right thing to do. So many memories, and a really good peice of gear

I fiddled around with one of those once. It seemed like a good cd player. I don't think Pioneer makes them anymore though. So I guess you have to buy them used -- I dunno.
