Instead of Garchomp i would suggest a bulky Salamence or maybe even a Timid Latios but i would say a Bold Suicune could out-bulk Hippowdon but I guess you know what youre doing because your such a great battler (that wasnt sarcasm) so i'll let yopu make your own desicions and about the suicune i use the shiny movie suicune and mine was bold so it was pretty beast as a stall-flincher

@1RocknRaichu3 those wouldn't fit in a sandstorm team. If he'd have salamence or latios they would take damage from sandstorm (which wouldn't really help if they'd run some sort of sub-set), not to mention lsing sand veil. And a suicune, while a powerful wall would take damage from sandstorm and alex would lose his 2nd sandstorm setup

i kinda dont like the aspect that the game has become so much about predicting your opponents choices and that you can get so familiar with aspects of the game that it becomes so easy for some to do. hopefully with the release of B&W some of that will get alleviated and there will be mroe variety and wild cards and such out there

There is no such thing as a battle without hax. Lack of crits / flinches / full paralysis is highly, HIGHLY unlikely, so if none of that happens, that's major hax.

@ExileOfSand Getting at least one quit was likely with that many EQs, but there was a better-than-even chance (56%) that at least one of his Sleep Talks would be Outrage. Even if one had been Bulk Up (89% chance to get one of the two), the last EQ would have done so little damage to his +4 Def (18% assuming Smogon spreads) that it would have been safe to just use Outrage instead of Rest when he woke up. Combined with the crit, that adds up to a pretty haxxy sequence.

And mud, there is no battle without hax, since a burn not occuring for example is still hax for the one that does not get burned. The only way not haxing is to win a battle by only nightshading/seismic tossing.
