I went to see Miss Ciccone on Reinvention Tour at Verizon Center in June of 04 and believe you me-when Madonna played Crazy for You-I Cried-What a sad and beautiful Madonna Tune. Everything about that lovely ballad is about catharsis, acceptance and love because I Truly think that Madge cares deeply about her fans-myself included! Regarding kids these days and music. I believe music taste is something that evolves due to multiple influences in a child's life. A 15 year old from a broken home, alcoholic or abusive parent would most likely enjoy R.A.P with the F'n bunch rather than easy listening 70's, Disco, THE 80'S ALL CAPS, and even the R.E.M., U2 era. Record industry targets the teens and the 20's demographic. That is why to us music today sucks. The demographic target prefers disposable items. 99 cent tunes on phones.

I don't fault kids today at all for wanting current stuff. That's completey normal. There was no sane kid in 1985 that wanted to listen to his parent's Elvis Pressley 1950s music, or 1960s hippie music, so ofcourse kids today wouldn't be that interested in 80s stuff. But the quality here is timeless...

The difference is that many people of my age (23) like music of this period better than the songs they grew up with in the 2000s and earlier in fact, I've seen people in their teens and 20s wearing Metallica T shirts and know plenty who love MJ. Nobody will be raving about Rihanna or Katy Perry in decades to come.
