Fantastic talent! It feels good to see a person with a modrest background perform as though he has been singing professionally for years. What a voice!
Pavarotti would congratulate Paul if he were still here. RIP Pavarotti, and Paul is going to become the new Pavarotti. Just imagine, this man is so young, by the time he is about 60, who knows how PERFECT of a singer he will be then? I already love EVERYTHING about his singing, even more so than Pavarotti to be honest. But I think that even the best of singers always find ways to improve themselves. They become god-like in their music. =)
Sorry, but I'm italian.. and I don't think that his italian is so good... you can for sure find out his strong english accent. Anyway, the english lyrics are much better... the italian version is just a trivial love song, as always...

I have to say That Toudiyama is correct, I mean 57M vs 5M views is no reflection of talent. Pavarotti was THE greatest Tennor ever! His range was Phenomenal.

Popularity doesn't say anything about the quality. Paul Post is popular because of Britan got Talent whereas Pavarotti managed to do it on merrits alone
we could turn things around and say look where he is performing and then look at all the pavarotty videos and see where he isBased on the Venue I would say Pavaroty is more succesfull and therefore better
@Toudiyama ,,,yes this is true but ,,,look how long pavarotti has been in the music business ,,and how short a time Paul Potts has been in it,,,not fair to judge these 2 who is better okay.
Even in a 3 month shorter time frame, Potts at 57,530,143 views verses Pavarotti at 5,337,711 is clearly 10 times more popular. If in fact, the Pavarotti "Nessun Dorma" performance was better then the numbers would be reversed. Deny it or accept it, that is reality.
i'm italian...i could say his italian is really good..i can understand every words he said....is not that easy you say to sing opera in italian even for an italian 'cause often words are from an old italian,no more used in our vocabulary...some unknow nowadays to us...p.s. i'm not speaking about this song,i'm speaking generally
I don't care in which he language he chooses to sing in, it's all beautiful to me. AMERICA LOVES PAUL POTTS!! And I happen to think this song is beautiful in Italian.

I'm sorry you found my comment disgusting. I have serious misgivings about the "created" stars of today. I think many other people do too. There is nothing wrong with enjoying his singing if you do, but I cannot accept that he is an "amazing" singer, however. A man of limited vocal talent, his voice lacks beautiful tone quality, he's fundamentally unmusical and he is a boring, though heart-felt performer. Britain's Got Talent was the equivalent of winning the Lotto for him.
I think he is a good singer. I like him because he's good. I don't actually know what his supposedly sad background is. All i know is that he won BGT. Sure he isn't the greatest in the world, and the three tenors are obviously far better, as well as more experienced, but i do think that Paul is a very talented singer.
why is he doing MALL tours? even if he isn't "up to par" with the big time guys, I'm sure someone could do way more with him, he is a real kick to listen to.
He isn't doing mall tours. Currently he is doing a worldwide album promotion. He recently finished a 100+ city tour, with sold out venues all across the globe, including stadiums, symphony halls & opera houses. Then he released his second album, Passione. After the current promotional tour for this album, he will begin his second world concert tour this summer.
So good to see raw talent such as this. I hope and pray Paul Potts will hold firm to his true self despite the insidious pressures fame will place on his life.

I think we all need to hear all kinds of music in our lives. Not knowing opera is a "loss" but this isn't opera. It's an impression of it and rather a poor one. Please listen to some of the popularly relatively unknown stars of opera - the Three Tenors are an obvious starting point - that have had a long training and have worked for years to develop their techniques so that they can sing long, demanding roles without microphones.
I actually am very familiar with them, thank you very much. I also happen to know that with music, especially vocal music, every time you perform, you have to bring more than just training and talent: you need to perform with every single part of you, every event, every memory that makes you who you are and pour it through your medium, be it your voice or some other instrument. Otherwise, your performance will be empty, soulless, dead.
I would argue, too, that while Paul Potts is obviously not at the same level as, say, Pavarotti, his style is undeniably opera. Also, the primary reason why Paul Potts IS so impressive, and so popular is the fact that he can do this WITHOUT having had any training!
I was there! I took my Mum to his performance at Eastland and he was just stunning. I was in tears and I had goosepimples listening to these three gorgeous songs. Afterwards he he stayed back for nearly two hours signing his CDs - 'Passione' & 'One Chance' and posing for photos - I have one of him, my Mum & me. Lovely to speak to! Great memories. Thanks for taking the time Paul.
Can't wait for "Passione" to become available on I-Tunes and Amazon in the U.S.. Paul, we're still waiting for you to return to the San Francisco Bay Area. Don't forget that includes Santa Rosa just north of the city. Bravo, Paul!
Watching Paul's progress over the years has been such a joy. He has learned as he's gone and grown and grown as an artist and personality. Clearly still humble and clearly enjoying the journey. The new album I predict will outsell the debut hit.
I have to to say that Paul haves a lot of talent and to let it clear. The best soprano in the world is from Britain and is called Sarah Brightman. She was singing years before than Bocelli, my respects to him but Britain Got Talent as all the countries in the world!

A cheap British imitation of an Italian original, Andrea Bocelli did this years ago, and he sang the songs better, Potts is just a copy cat, the British can only imitate, and not very well, do something original for a change!

Paul sang Nessum Dorma so powerful.
