This is really interesting, it should be getting more attention. The only negative aspect I cans see is if you were to look away from the screen, or look at something by accident. Eyes do wander. Is there a gesture for selection, as in a frown or a blink? Or do you just focus on it?
Either way, it seems to me to be a big step forward in this area of technology. I hope it's used in many products in the future. Imagine an iPad with this?
Impressive! My mother has MS...Something like this would bring hope to her future, not only with the Computer, but has the potential of driving wheelchairs as well! Bravo!
Yes nice but many people have already thought of this including myself (thought of this back in 2005) as for the selection on the screen think about how you going to do thati have another way far better than what you have now :P
Sounds cool Mr DesertR4ge. Do you have any form of demonstration/paper? Would like to discuss your ideas but your not giving me too much to go on here ;)
This has been one of my major concerns for this work. Gaze is "always on" and blinking is not the solution. My interface relies in most cases on a second eye movement to make the selection.
First, look at the button and the menu will appear then look at the icon to activate. It becomes really fast when one gets used to it. The activation speed can be configured to suit individual needs.
wow i would love to use this. I hate using a mouse. On some of my pcs I use a hand held Trackball with a trigger. Its meant for a laptop but I use it on some of my pcs. So I can keep my hand on my lap. Nice work by the way.
Thanks! The UI components I've built can be reused which enables swift drag-and-drop gaze app development. Considering a public release and a set of videos that demonstrate how to use them.

is it possible to control a mouse cursor in the same way? So that it could be applied to current UIs?
