In the lower block (above the hook) I used custom made, brass sheaves. I was hoping these would pull the hook down while lowering, but this proved to be not the case. I still needed weight attached to the hook to make it go down. All the other sheaves are standard Lego pulley wheels nr.3736. For a later crane model, I used silk kite rope with better results, without brass pulley wheels.

Really like this, I building something pretty big and I love your turntable idea. I used similar ideas for strengthening things e.g beam and plate either side. I love the fact you done it in stud form
where did u get the blue legos all in the same color. and the big wheels, from the hail fire droid set(about the wheels). please reply! plus i subbed to u
No problems with the wheels, although I had strength problems in the aft part of the jib, resulting in the snapping of some Technic bricks. Thanks for reacting!
