I thought Despicable Me was more predictable and had bland dryer humor than Megamind. I surprisingly didn't care to see ether, but ended up loving Megamind.
Why do so many people seem impervious to the fact that Harrison is a terrible actor? He has three faces 1) the corny twisted mouth smile 2) the I just smelled a fart grimace and 3) the glassy eyed emotional overwhelm....hardly method acting rather its antithesis!!!!! Hollyweird really churns out more and more crap....Huxley was right. Thanks for posting your review nonetheless:)
@JPizzle1122 Battle L.A.: A great action film, it was very well done but teh most of it was just shooting and explosions, which is cool for guys. Definenintly an awesome movie to see for a guys night out! 8/10
Battle L.A.: A great action film, it was very well done but teh most of it was just shooting and explosions, which is cool for guys. Definenintly an awesome movie to see for a guys night out! 8/10
It's fascinating how I only know one of the two movies reviewed xD
But still, I've been watching these reviews for a while now, so thanks for keeping us up to date (the Oscar's Special and really, just good movies that aren't that popular).
Morning Glory was awful. I would give it a 2/10. The only good part was the guy from modern Family and he only has like 2 minutes of screen time. BARF.
The Tourist- A cliche and terribly acted movie that's soul purpose was to showcase The beauty of Angelina Jolie. In no way interesting with a cop-out and uncreative ending. 3/10
The Next Three Days - A compelling action thriller with Russel Crowe being the amazingly bad-ass actor that he always is. A bit too far fetched at some points however. 8/10
I didn't think Megamind was that predictable, in fact it was one of the things I loved about it. There were a couple scenes where I thought I knew what would happen, but then the movie totally surprised me. This is, by far, Dreamworks best movie. It made me laugh, cry and care for the characters. Definitely a 10/10
I love this show, its so informative and very well put together. Please, please keep up the good work even though this show deserves more views than what it collects each. Well done!
You've got a lot of fans who aren't gamers. Ever thought about doing a review of heavy rain but doing it movie night style. That game is a little unusual. But I give it a 9/10 for it's low replay value. But I was very invested in the story and characters.
I wonder how long it'll take for you to get an ED page, Jon. =\ Poorly handled, and I'm surprised the others allow you to do this to not only your, but their viewers.
"Daybreak"? That's the name of a UK based breakfast show. It replaced the moderately successful "GMTV" in a bid to keep the show 'fresh', and has had a slowly declining viewer count since it's introduction sometime last year... funny XD
I like Movie Night more than the Microwave Show. Since they changed the place they do it at, it's always too dark. I'm not complaining about it, it's still fun to watch stuff blow up, and when it does, you know it, but movie night seems better. I give it a 9/10. That was a joke. Ya know, 'cause he rates movies...
@JPizzle1122 Well, i have to agree with him that it kinda does. The old location at your parents house was very well lit while you filmed at night.
You still film at night, but there is way less light and the "set" isn't that well dressed. The old lab looked more like a "microwave lab" than a garden. I realize that you when you shot the last season, you only lived there a couple of weeks/months, but the deck where you film sure could use a little dressing up. Just a tip!
Hi Jon, I'm wondering if you've made any films, I mean, besides the stuff on this channel. You definitely know your stuff and you have the technical know-how for filmmaking, so I'm just curious if I could watch them somewhere.
@Miczv7 - There are only a few things I've ever done that *aren't* posted on this channel. The stuff that is, and doesn't suck - is in the "Movies Without Microwaves" playlist. Go check it out.
dreamworks arent on par with pixar cause thier SO much better, i mean pixar may have made some realy good stuff like cars and toy stroy but dreamworks are just as good with stuff like shreck, ice age, over the hedge, kung fu panda, all these great movies, how to train yur dragon was one of the best movies ive ever seen, yu cant say thier not on par with pixar, thier itleast just as good as pixar now, if not better
@shaunjcw - I can say that actually, because it's true. Yes, all the movies you mentioned are good. But Pixar has Up, Toy Story, Wall-E... all of which are better than those movies.
I love this review show. Jon rates movies not on some universal objective scale of quality, which almost always leads to pretentious posturing, but on what the movies are actually trying to achieve. The audience participation adds another layer of down-to-earth perspective to the show. Overall, this is the only movie review show I watch, on youtube or otherwise, because Jon excels at giving informative synopses with descriptive reviews that help the viewer decide upon whether to see the movie.
I'm afraid I had to disagree with just "pretty great" as your annotation puts How to Train your Dragon; that was my animated movie of the year and was the first time I really felt moved by a movie like that. Imho, much better than Megamind
hey jon could you do a review on a movie, well its not a high budget film but its on youtube the movie "The Trashmaster" a 90 minute film using the game GTA:IV for all its scenes its posted on youtube
Sometime in the future, I think you should review the movie "Good Night, and Good Luck," its about six years old, but I think it's completely worth taking the time.
The tourist was probably the worst i've seen johnny depp in. The whole movie was just not that great. I felt like it had a very weak premise and plot. But they both acted decently in that movie. 5/10
Jon--something interesting here. Your glasses frames (specifically the temples) are likely reflecting the green from the green screen (or blue, not sure) and make the illusion that much more realistic by being chroma keyed out as if they were reflecting the real ambient reddish light. Kudos on making the only decent "non-professional" green/blue screen effect I've ever seen.
@JPizzle1122 In my opinion it is certainly professional--it's your job--but as you don't have your own backlot and a huge visual effects budget, it's an impressive feat to pull off a good chroma key effect--even most local weathermen have a green haze around them. No offense intended by "non-professional;" I perhaps should have said "best chroma key effect on the internet" or "best chroma key by a one-man production team."
I agree, I think DreamWorks has really stepped it up with their last 2-3 releases. Will you be reviewing HTTYD later? I would like to hear what you think about that movie more in depth, it's next to my favorite right now.
The next 3 days: A great movie. I loved the acting, the writing, evrything. The action dosn't start untill 1/2 way throught the movie. Still a great action flick. 8/10
The Next Three Days: It was a fairly good movie with the combination of Russel Crowe and Liam Neeson being out of the blue. However, there were a few slow scenes. 8/10
@JPizzle1122 i agree, but you coming off as rude is going to lose you subscribers. i am aware that these people are ignorant, and you have addressed it in the past, but just dont respond
The Next Three Days was a great movie that kept your attention with the involved crime plotting. Every actor in this film does a great job, and the action scenes never cease to be suspenseful and interesting. However, Russel Crow's plans to escape from Pittsburgh with his wife seemed very unrealistic...but hey, im not one to brag. 9/10
@JPizzle1122 I just want to say thanks for responding to comments posted by your audience. Among my subscriptions, You, Riley and Jory, are part of a very small number of people who take the time to address people's questions and concerns. I really appreciate that. Thank you:)

I'm still going to say I wish you would review Monsters. Just Saying. It's a great film I wish more people would see.

I'd love to know what you think of I Am Number Four.
I saw it twice, and I loved it, but I might just be biased. The soundtrack was great, but I feel like the movie was rushed and unfinished.

Thank you:)

Jon, did you make that border of animating lights (or just yellow balls) in Premiere Pro or what?

@slipperystudios - No, that was created in After Effects.
