Fuck all the thoughts. Kashmir is an integral part of India. Muslims just came 500-600 yrs ago to this country as Invader. All the prominent hindu pilgrimages are in J&K like Vaishno devi and Amarnaath and kailash since thousands of years. so how can it be given to Pakistan on the basis of religion? who will consider the Kashmiri pandits who have been living in kashmir since it was made. So its a hindu state and will always be part of the Union of India

actually dude kashmir never was a part of the pan Indian state..it was for most of its history an independent kingdom and even the brits had negligible influence ovr kashmir..i am an Indian bt truly speaking we have made this an issue of honor rather than being practical and rational..Sardar Patel had famously said in a cabinet metg to let kashmir go as it wl prove to be a sour deal for India in the future..bt Nehru's kashmir link made the PM emotional and landed us in this mess..

Even though it's a noble solution, it would definitely give the edge to India and it is not feasible in my opinion as either countries can not do such things for Kashmir's sake... Kashmir is not the sole problem in both the nations. It cannot be a contest; maximum points wins the trophy sort...

I'd say, the solution should be something radical such as be a part of both nations; nurtured by both. Equal stakes and peace;

So long ago when Geographical knowledge was limited it looks likely that an emperor thought like that. My dear Kashmir is not a piece of land to be awarded to a winner it simply belongs to the people of kashmir who were denied the right of self determination in 47 during partition process. Later India denied the U.N resulutions for same.
