I don't like war, I don't want war. The "quote" I said was from a fiction novel I read called "War". I don't want to fight in a war because I would be the first one shot. Also, I do not believe war is cool. In my opinion no one should think war is cool. Finally I will never know what war is like until I am drafted after I become 18. If I am drafted I would be proud to fight for my country. Would I want to, no but if I have to I would. Now I apologise to anyone that I offended with full heart.
Nukes have been more a weapon of peace than war. If the US and USSR weren't so terrified that they were gonna nuke each other if conflicts escalated, they would have been beating the shit out of each other by the 60s.
@SuperIby Isaw a bumper sticker that summed it all up , it said ,It's not who wins or loses , but who's left. Being a former Marine , that said it all
@hayden50 oh, i was just making the point that it was on teh edge of glorifying war, which could have totally been the point, but, as i said... mildly off-putting.
Tsutomu Yamaguchi, he died this year. He survived both Hiroshima and Nagasaki detonations, he lived to be 93 years old. His is a story that needs to be told.
That's my favorite scene too. As if there wasn't enough insanity perpetrated by us (Americans) and the Soviets! The clip of the Chinese shooting their machine guns in the aftermath of the explosion epitomizes surreality. They take it to a level the viewer doesn't even conceive of...until seeing the footage. The film leaves a deep impression.
OMFG i know!!! all hail the bomb. Our new savior, our sun god our love our everything. RUN TO THE BOMB !!! RUN EVERYONE TO THE BRIGHT WARM GLOW LET IT IRRADIATE YOU AND YOUR HORSE. RUN RIGHT NOW!!!.
Kind of scary when you think that Ivy Mike's 10 megaton yield only gets STARTED with a booster atom bomb the size that wiped Hiroshima off the map. Oooy!!
why they don't tell that how they got rocket engine in first point. US got rocket from Nazi germany, ofcourse nation was dead when they got rocket engine pioneer
Remember though that it was the American rocket pioneer John Goddard whose work was ignored in the USA but inspired the German rocketeers... one could say it was America's own fault they fell behind in rocket design...
Besides, this film is about the history of nuclear devices and the only rockets featured in this film are the Thor Missiles, which were independently developed by American companies instead of the german populated ABMA.
Saksalaisten rooli korostui vasta mannertenvälisten ohjuksien kehityksessä, mikä jää dokumentin aiheen ja aikajanan ulkopuolelle. Dokumentti valottaa ydinkokeiden historiaa ja siksi päättyy USA:n ja NL:n ydintestit kieltävään sopimukseen 1963.

The sad thing is that the fallout from these bombs came down all over the US and North America. The American government killed a lot of their own people.
It's called 'Mobilization' and it's made by a company called 'Immediate Music'. You can get a soundtrack of the music from the link in the film above.
JESUS! no wonder our environment is fucked up...you cannot detonate over 100 nukes into the atmosphere and expect things to be normal...not to mention the marine life and the life on the bimini atol that was extinguished by these fuckin retards!
War is anything but COOL, young man. You speak with the lack of perspective common to one who has never experienced the realities of war first-hand. For your sake, I hope you never have to endure the mental, emotional and physical torment of war.
i am in history class and i learned everything about ww1 and ww2 and it was really hard for everybody but u got to admit EXPLOSIONS ARE ALWAYS AWESOME
The atomic bomb was dropped twice on Japan during WWII. Germany had been defeated, and Japan was the only other force still capable of an everlasting fight
The first explosion was seen as a fluke, and Japan ignored the warnings and continued to fight.
When the second bomb was dropped, Japan realized that their entire island could be easily destroyed with only a small air fleet carrying these bombs, and they resigned from the war, ending the global conflict.
Err, not quite. Even after the second nuke, the Japanese War Council refused to surrender. A day or two after the second one, Russia finally declared war on Japan, then Hirohito made a personal appeal to the nation to surrender.
And even THEN a group of army officers mutinied and stormed the royal palace. Had that attack succeeded, Japan would have fought to the very bitter end.
Not at all...most people don't realize just how dead-set Japan was against the dishonor of losing. Quite a few military officers committed suicide just upon hearing the news of the surrender.
Those that think we could have possibly convinced Japan to surrender without the nuclear bombs (or a land invasion which would have killed millions of Japanese civilians) just don't know their history.
yeah iknow you speakthe truth better to lose tothe imperialistic ameriacans and retain your crown than be under soviet domination at least stalin would have given hirihito abullet tothe back of the skull
@MajorManny Listen old man, i dont give a shit that you or someone you know went into a war, watching a war happen, now thats what you would call awesome, being in a war, thats a different story. But watching bombs rain down on enemy soil is cool.
America is not a terrorism country, but i do hope one of these never gets dropped on human lives again. It is too powerful to control. Aside from of course pushing or not pushing the button
unfortunately man has an inability to learn from history so sme fuckwit will use it again wipeing an unknowable count of our brothers and sisters politicians should fight wars not civillians
yep, i had to say it was a fascinating but scary at the same moment when i watched the atomic and hydrogen bombings. did you know the narration for this documentary film was by William Shatner??
i watched this film in my history class this week, and i took a whole lot of notes and did the drawings from the earlier atomic bomb designs

@brownsrd16 ironically, most of our science that helps people was made through suffering.
