Indeed, and this game - even though I've never played it - really stuck in my memory for this reason. It is dripping with atmosphere, and hopelessness for mankind. The fact that you can play around with the humans in the arenas only heightens this feeling. It is, as you say, a new world order. A darker game has rarely been conceived.

It's images hit me deeply when I was 10, I remember it came out of no where at this hotel. It had such a big screen. Funny you said it stuck with you. I was fasinated by how the great human race could just end up like that, in a way it taught me how small we are in the universe regardless of what the actual story was. It gave me a eerie feeling about how finite our bodys really are and how strong our illusion of immortality is.

Nope the story of them is like they were on earth or urth but like places were humans didn't go armadon was in the earths crust, blizzard was frozen, diablo was in some firey prison (maybe hell?), vertigo was banished to the moon, talon lived on a small island nobody knew and sauron was a deep sleep when the meteor hit earth islands rearranged and the moon must of hit earth so thats pretty much the story.

A very excellent intro. I especially like the computer generation and the music here. It's pretty awesome to see humans worshipping to the prehistoric creatures when they had emerged from the flaming rocks/meteors caused by the Great Fire crashing into an old star.

I've always wanted to try the PlayStation version (I once had been exposed to the Sega Genesis version, and it scared me, especially when one of the fighter's hearts exploded), seeing the greatness within this version. It may have been Talon who had ran behind the bushes during the Probe Entertainment sequence.
