  • I feel like I'm watching a Rothbardian analysis. That's a good thing

  • Very thought provoking review! I never quite looked at it this way, but you're right on pretty much all levels.

  • Very well said. Never got a chance to beat the game myself, but knowing of it and now seeing this brings a whole new perspective to it.

  • Ninja Gaiden 3 was the hardest of the trilogy. But it had the greatest ending ever. It feels like you should win an award for completing one of the hardest games ever.

  • @LoneSamuraiGosamaru

If that's the case, I wonder where I should pick mine up. I beat it for the first time in either 1996 or 1997, but it's a wonder my sanity stayed intact long enough for it to happen!

  • @MysteryGameGeEk3000 No, man, your video is fine hehe, I was actually referring to the game itself :).

There are many cut scenes with extreme flickering, like when Ryu is about to enter the subspace portal, or when Castle Rock crumbles during the ending.

People with epilepsy would probably be greatly at risk sitting through those scenes.

  • @DTysonator I guess that Tecmo wanted to make their game seem larger than life and they definitely achieved their ambition, but at what cost?

During the credits it jokes that "Nobody" worked on the programming, maybe that's the reason behind all of the evil flickering during many of the cut scenes!

  • Ryu really comes across as a sexist young man at the end of the first Ninja Gaiden.

I mean, he treats women like objects (payment that he has already received) and Irene doesn't really seem to mind this either, as evidenced by the wet one that she plants on him :).

I always chuckle when reading Clancy's reasoning to rid the world of humans, what an asshole indeed!

Overall, part III has a meaningful ending, as you mentioned, however the flashing screens are REALLY overkill!

  • The NES Ninja Gaiden games all have great endings in their own ways.

In terms of graphics/sound/overall atmosphere, the ending to part II The Dark Sword of Chaos stands out the most, while the endings to the original and part III The Ancient Ship of Doom are memorable because of unintentional humor...
