actually we didnt leave the bases in basrah (its spelled basrah george bush) the british goverment took the troops out and put them in afghanistan. and with afghanistan they can handle the attacks, they've killed up to 20,000 taliban while americans run over civilians with their humvees and blow up entire villages to kill 2 taliban. taliban never attack with more than 4 men unless its an ambush in the mountains. plus were leaving sangin cause we dont have enough troops stationed.

hard has nothing to do with it. i just practised for six nights before i done it. the british army website has an online barbs test for civilians to try. im going into the paras. common sense isnt going to be my thing, it will be physical endurance.
i thought our body count was high because its over 200 and we have the second highest bodycount but the americans body count is over 1000 and in iraq its over 4000

Was i talking about american artillery...NO. American paratroopers during WWII faced the greatest challenge and got the job done. Also Army Rangers scaled the fuckin cliffs under machine gun fire and grenades! to neutralize German guns.
and if you would do a little more research, the aircraft checked with forward air controllers prior to executing a gun-run. the FAC relayed that there were no friendly units in the area. as far as the pilot was concerned, anything military vehicles moving in that grid were hostile.

You know when you hand over to a para reg bloke at the end of a tour lookin like a spartan that ya havent done fuck all all tour. when we were relieved we had lost about 3 stone each and had grey hair cos we actually did some fucking work.
it's easy saying that, but the British army doesn't lose, which makes it hard to pull out. But winning might not be the answer, if this was to go on for say, 11 years, after that length of time the Taliban may see that we won't leave until the situation is resolved and decide to enter talks on the country's future. Just takes persistence.

my battalion(3para) is looking at going to helmand again in start of 2010. this summer we where based in kandahar working all over southern afghan and not just in helmand.
Are there many paras out there now? Because there was a handover to the Royal Marines a few months ago and they are out there patrolling most of Helmand. I thought the marines would hand back to the paras next summer and then switch back over in 2010? Am I right?

Well another military vid where people spend more time making insulting comments about their allies than appreciating each others support.I've watched videos of British,American,Canadian,Australian,Dutch,Danish,Estonian,French and Spanish units in action and they are all doing a tough job extremely professionally.I for one have nothing but respect for soldiers of any nation who stand beside us as allies in combat.

My cousin is in 4 Platoon, B Comp, 2 PARA, he became acting medic when the "3 soldiers were killed " 3:07 (Nathan Cuthbertson, Daniel Gamble and Charles Murray r.i.p) It's sad that they are over their returning the country back to it's government and people, and supplying them with medicine and utilities, and all they get in return is abuse of pro-twat-muslims who are living in our country and claiming our benefits. and if you would do a little more research, the aircraft checked with forward air controllers prior to executing a gun-run. the FAC relayed that there were no friendly units in the area. as far as the pilot was concerned, anything military vehicles moving in that grid were hostile.

it's easy saying that, but the British army doesn't lose, which makes it hard to pull out. But winning might not be the answer, if this was to go on for say, 11 years, after that length of time the Taliban may see that we won't leave until the situation is resolved and decide to enter talks on the country's future. Just takes persistence.

they have been out there for some time now, all year round. but in smaller groups.
they're also in many other theatres.
1para is now SFSG. so they follow the SF.

yep, some of them. they don't work as a battalion though, so sme go work with 22SAS in iraq and some with SBS in afghan. and then some other places too i'm sure.
my battalion(3para) is looking at going to helmand again in start of 2010. this summer we where based in kandahar working all over southern afghan and not just in helmand.

Are there many paras out there now? Because there was a handover to the Royal Marines a few months ago and they are out there patrolling most of Helmand. I thought the marines would hand back to the paras next summer and then switch back over in 2010? Am I right?
