This truck might be good for driving to the office and back but definately not mudding. The Ridgeline in general just isnt truck material. Its built out of Honda car parts for sure. God forbid you ever accidently brush into a tree while mudding it might fall apart. I beat the hell out of my 2002 Ford Ranger 4x4 when I go mudding but its still got all original shocks and suspension. It came with a 4.0L stock skidplates, heavy duty tow hooks. And a pretty solid chrome front bumper
Enjoyable even humorous video of the Honda Ridgeline being pulled out of the Canadian clay "muck"
Glad it wasn't me - even with my Honda Ridgeline truck up to its neck in sticky mud or my new Honda pulling it out with my Honda truck
Perhaps a good old fashioned Honda Civic "Rice Rocket" on a street race late at night has its merits - yet here in Winnipeg the police seem to have taken a passion in going after us fine folks just cruising around on Sunday summer nights
Awesome video! I'm so glad u didn't put any fucking music to screw up the video. Just engine roar, mud sloshing, & guys/girls? havin fun. Mud pusher LOL!!!
Man, that Ridgey is sweet, I'm glad I'm buying one today. I was worried that it's a little less powerful and way slower than the Dodge Dakota 5.9 litre R/T that I'm trading in for it, but all the other benefits might outweigh that.
@Wodey25 I traded my fully built (motor wise) supercharged Toyota Tacoma for one. I'll say the benefits and features of the RL definitely outweigh it. I do miss the power of my tacoma but the Ridgeline isn't the slowest vehicle on the road either. It slaloms better than some newer sedans too!
At least the Ridgeline has way more power and torque than the Ford SportTrac. And its engine is smaller than in the SporTrac. (3.5 vs 4.0). The Ridgeline IS NOT A HEAVY DUTY TRUCK, it is a SUV with cargo bed. It is a unibody structure reinforced with a rigid chassis. The car was designed to be comfortable, but at the same time useful to move big items with and good all terrain response. It might not be a rock climber, but it can go to many places off the road.
Exactly. It is very car-like. it's an interesting 4wd system. For light off-roading it might be fine, but when I hear people say they "take their ridgeline mudbogging" and they think mud-bogging is 4" of mud (instead of a 30" deep pit) I gotta laugh some...
Glad you realize what your vehicle is. For a light hauler with a comfy car-like ride, there's likely not much better.
very surprised that the honda made it through the mudhole i love honda's but surprised it made it through with those stock tires need to put some mudders on that thing
nah, it's cool seeing these guy using a ridgeline, not many out there is use for off-roading, watching this telling you that a ridgeline could be use for off-road in emergency situation too
What kind of system does it have for 4wd, is it a floor shift, button or is it auto , mygrand parents bought one and thiers is an atuo, which mean it puts itself into 4wd
Well, if you want a truck . . . don't get the ridgeline.
No offense to Ridgeline owners, but it's not a real truck. Until it has a V8 option and some decent aftermarket offroad accessories, you shouldn't really consider it a truck.
@AlbertaBeefy yeah, i'd consider it a car? that's basically saying the ranger, tacoma, colorado, aren't trucks. drive a ridgeline, it has plenty of power. it's not a workhorse, but it's a medium duty truck.
@AlbertaBeefy i'm not gonna argue with you, it's completely pointless. the ridgeline isn't a heavy duty truck, get this straight people. independent suspension is great, the truck handles great, it rides like a car,
@gtvapsamtik the ridgeline has plenty of power, and very smooth acceleration. gas mileage is probably better with the honda. i average 18 mpg with ours.
@gtvapsamtik Do you really need more than that? Besides, in the truck world torque is much more important. The Ridgeline engine produces torque at low rpms. You still can't compare it to a V8, but it's not as bad as you might think. Plus, the Ridgeline is a light vehicle when compared to most trucks.
@aediaz91 may be, since it has the Z71 Off Road Suspension option....but 5.3 liters in a V8 engine for just 320 HP, it is very disappointing.... And the Avalanche is way heavier...it looks great and it is bigger...but heavier and way more expensive....like $10k more.
i have owned all types of trucks and their is nothing wrong with the ridgeline they could have given it a little more ground clearence beside that its a great truck these haters are just pissed cause they cant afford one i thought the honda did good that it only had allterrain and not mts
They are grill inserts that the previous owner had bought/installed. I can find out where he bought them if you'd like. The rest is the stainless steel pushbar I had installed. Both together does make it look sweet, eh?
Firestone Destination A/T's. They were brand new at the time the video was made. They actually did very well considering the conditions. It had rained earlier in the week, froze, then thawed. The ground was like greasy mud. The Liberty was using BFG Mud Terrain tires
honda gonna have a 2010 NSX, the NSX will be powered by a V10, and there's rumor about honda putting the v10 into the next generation ridgeline or maybe a v8, i dont know but i heard the rumor all over the internet ^^

@GSRGOPEDRIDER247 I drive a tacoma 4x4, and it's much more a truck than the ridgeline is. Even honda says the ridgeline is on a car-platform.
Independent rear suspension isn't meant for a truck...
