Obama is just the latest greatest soialist thief to come out of "Crook County" Illinois. It doesnt surprise me at all that we are here on the verge of economic collapse with a Crook County political hack at the controls!! Bring back Reagan style conservatism, before we are all living with a set of fences to keep all of our skilled labor in, like the old soviet union!
Dan is by far the least convincing and most annoying face of Cato. His message fail to convince and his hyperbole detract from his points. CATO we deserve better.
According to their actions and ignoring what comes out of their mouths, it is a government supervised destruction of the American way. Sounds more like DC has been taken over by a foreign power, and they are now using the federal government to ruin the country. Or, did I miss something?
How about a media czar? Oh yeah, that job's been sold already.
Faux shock jocks. Guess what? Bush had just as many officials, over seeing just as much money. Not to mention Bush's over trillion dollar debt on the war in Iraq alone. How about the GOP's budget, you know, the one that featured no numbers.
Yet its ok when Obama does it you complain about Bush so much yet you think its ok for Obama to spend in the trillions you should be against this spending again you show Liberal spending hyprocisy Bush spending bad Obama spending good, I am getting tired of you bacwards liberals you where only against Bush because he was not a democrat but now since you have a democrat now its ok just stop.
No numb nuts, its not alright. But here's the thing, a huge amount of the money is going to support infrastructure which in turn creates jobs, which helps the states economy, which supports the over all national economy.
even though it doesn't work where is the job growth all I seen was an increase of job losses 9.5% highest ever yet lets spend more money how are we going to pay this back?
sabboth42, That 'broken window' thing Kabuki mentioned is a story by Frederick Bastiat.
A boy throws a rock through a shopkeeper's window. A crowd gathers around, and at first, they're angry at the boy. Then they realize the glazier would have to replace the window, and he would have money to spend, and so on.
But the crowd didn't realize the shopkeeper wouldn't have that money to spend on something else, like a new suit, or pair of shoes.
Yeah Bush sucked... but how does that make it ok for Obama to do it? You have to be critical of both sides. He's using the same policies as Bush! It's there in plain sight.
I realize that and do. However, Obama has had very little time in office, and he has still made leaps and bounds in attempting to counter the ruin Bush brought on the nation.
I always enjoy watching Dan Mitchell on these Cato videos. His enthusiasm is great. And he doesn't have an annoying voice or a bland one. I can't say the same for that other guy, the one who was on CSPAN months to talk about the stimulus and who debated general tax policy on CNBC. I think his name was Lee Edwards or something.

The money has to come from somewhere.

If you ask that to an Obama supporter, if they respond, they'll say "China," but China is only a small part of where the money comes from.
The truth is, we're printing it.

the FED has been printing it, or course!
