  • I'm surprised no one noticed the fallacy in this video...He says the original video was on the tonight show but the second time through was the same video of the foxnews re-broadcast. Then he dubbed over "doody". If he wanted to fool me, it would have been necessary to actually fetch "the tonight show" video without dubbing.

I know that O'Reilly and Maher generally get along, and I seen it as a playful jab at O'Reilly from Maher. O'Reilly really made himself look like a prick by censoring this as if Maher said something more vile than it really was.

    The high school drop out rate is high because of an irresponsibly underfunded federal rationing to public schooling, in a city where many are under the average income and can't afford private schooling, high school is all they have.

    This is exactly why Republicans should not be in charge, they are uncapable of thinking of anyone but white christians.

  • I am independent, I do not belong to any political party, but for this election I was elated that the Republicans did not win.

    This doesn't mean to say I'm overly eager for a Democratic president but for this election it was the only logical choice.

    If Republicans put forward solutions to the problems I have noted above then obviously I would do what is best for America and side with them.

    Detroit's issues are not a result of the Democrats either, it is a combination of factors.

  • I'm not old enough to be able to make a clear judgement but I'd say after the impeachment of Bill Clinton a Republican candidate was the only reasonable choice. Putting another Democrat there to fill the void would have been way too obvious a cover up, so the power was shifted deservedly.

    The reason why I feel so strongly against the Republicans this time around is because of the overwhelming societal issues crushing America, some of which I listed above.

    The quote that you refer to is:

    "Just 13% of Disadvantaged Democrats have completed college"

    which specifically refers to lower income Democrats who mostly cannot afford college in the first place, not the party as a whole.

    Even then, I was referring to Liberals against Conservatives (not Democrats against Republlicans - there is a difference) which is 49% to 16%.

    There is nothing that you can possibly say to save yourself now.

    However, it is true that college graduates make up for 49% on both sides in total.

    However, 64% of Democrats have graduated from high school, whilst only 34% of Republicans have.

    No bias.

  • That is a good point, but eventually Big Daddy and his likeminded fellows will die. Unfortunately he will probably find a woman sad enough to have a baby with him and the cycle will continue. Maybell be two more generations down before Big Daddy's chromosomes are put to rest.

    On the other hand, now that I read back at his comments I'm fairly sure that he was just a troll having a laugh. If so, he got us good!

    If not, a I've said above, he should probably contemplate suicide.

  • Yes, he is a troll, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's joking; it just means he's being an asshole for attention. He admits to being a troll, but that's not the same as being a Poe.

    However, there is a good chance that he doesn't even believe anything he says. After all, he has left about 50 comments, none of which offer anything substantial. I'm not saying that just because he's a conservative, either. It is possible to offer an intelligent argument for conservative viewpoints.

  • The catch is, though, that you have to actually believe what you're saying. People who are parodies never bother to give any attempt at a reasoned argument for the position they're parodying.

    Even pundits like Bill O'Reilly aren't stupid; on the contrary, they're very intelligent, but they just appeal to the lowest common denominator through cheap tactics like the one pointed out in this video.

  • What BigDaddy has done is he has used only the inflammatory rhetoric of Fox News talking heads. Seriously, who signs their names at the end of comments? Plus, he constantly leaves little comments that ridiculous overinflate his ego and confidence. Saying things like "This is too easy!" might make sense for a TV or radio personality with a mass audience, but when speaking to an audience of one, it just makes one look completely deluded.

  • Again, I'm not a left-winger nor a hack. I have the advantage of not living in America so I'm able to objectively view policy without choosing a party.

    I literally do not have to decide, I live in a different country.

    House & Congress was a start & hopefully things will truly progress now.

    The sorry state that America is in is proof in itself of how horrible the leadership is at the top of the Republican party.

    I'm happy that they lost so now the States can catch up to the rest of the west.

    7.2 million people are in prison/parole/probation.

    America is the most obese population in the world.

    The most murders per capita out of any Western country are commited in the States.

    And the States remain the only Western country that has not yet adapted to socialising healthcare.
