I did see CBC TV "Hockey Night in Canada" briefly showing Stevie up talking to somebody in one of the suites as the Wings were getting their group picture down on the ice.
It was a long range shot. I did not stay up long after that so if the CBC or anyone else give Stevie any more attention, I wasn't there to see it. As I recall , the announcers were wondering themselves why he hadn't come down to take part himself. I imagine he has some stoic reason to let the team celebrate "their" Stanley.
Stevie didn't want to take anything away from the current players and especially Lidstrom. So, he stayed in the background and let them get all the attention. It was just classic, classy Stevie Y!

I don't think there was room on the bench in Pittsburgh. When Helm got injured and went off into the locker room during game 6, I saw Dom sitting next to the glass.
You could see him during the celebration though. He was definitely a part of it.

i'm so glad ozzie called out the refs and the league for pushing a game 7! it crossed my mind after the WEEK call that made it 3-2 and then the clear no-call when Pav was tripped. Great teams rise above bad officials.

Hell yeah. Especially after all the pens did after game 1 and 2 was cry about the reffing and the "obstruction" (aka not letting cindy crosby have a free lane down the ice). Also gotta love how Ozzie said that Dally was "fatigued." Maybe a little shot at how the pens talked about the Wings' age and how they'd gas out before the series was over.

I did see CBC TV "Hockey Night in Canada" briefly showing Stevie up talking to somebody in one of the suites as the Wings were getting their group picture down on the ice.
It was a long range shot. I did not stay up long after that so if the CBC or anyone else give Stevie any more attention, I wasn't there to see it. As I recall , the announcers were wondering themselves why he hadn't come down to take part himself. I imagine he has some stoic reason to let the team celebrate "their" Stanley.

Stevie didn't want to take anything away from the current players and especially Lidstrom. So, he stayed in the background and let them get all the attention. It was just classic, classy Stevie Y!
