is he seriously trying to show curviture of the spine and thinks he can adjust that with chriopracting? if this womans spine was curved so much that you could see it she would need some serious medical treatment ie, back brace/operation.. she would not need a readjustment
at the beginning, hes showing the others in the video what to look for before adjusting the patient, they all bunch up behind her as he points out what it is, but really theyre just checking out dat ass!
He's not explaining why chiro is controversial, he is trolling (it seems). There is a ton of evidence out there supporting it, but there is always going to be someone out there who wants to say "the evidence isn't good enough." It's much the same with the evolution debate. Evolution is basically a fact, but lots of people want to say there isn't enough evidence. go figure.
@arvinbahri A substantial element of chiropractic remains controversial, particularly in that some chiropractors believe that through spinal manipulation deafness, blindness and other serious defects can be cured. The originator of chiropractic certainly believed so. A recent high-profile court case in the U.K. - you can find information about it on the BBC Website - also shows premier chiropractic associations will attempt (and fail) to use libel laws to stifle scientific scrutiny.
@Spinalogic you shouldn't have banned that guy, discussion, even argumentative discussion, promotes knowledge. I don't discount what chiropractors do, however, I don't like the ones that make their patients come back for multiple visits while doing only simple maintenance cracks. If a person has a legitimate condition, that can be fixed within a few visits, or good evidence can be shown as to why more visits are needed, then it's alright, but the industry needs better regulation.
@Spinalogic go to gonstead.com and find a gonstead chiropractor in your area. You will get the closest thing to the original Art, Science and Philosophy of chiropractic and it will only take you a few visits to be fixed. This stuff your watching here is a waste of time. Its designed for the practitioner and not the patient. They will tell you that you have to come three times a week and rip you off.
is there any one in cornwall who could help me please i have both my ribs are hurting and around my back, think its from slouching sitting just need some one to push my back back in,i dont want to go to these expensive chiropractors, been there years ago if you can help leave a message thanks
@sgtpete1 Hi sgtpete1. So, you have an issue with your back, but you don't want to see a Chiropractor. Hmmm... That's a bit like saying you have an issue with your car engine, but you don't want to see a mechanic. If you are experiencing back pain, I think it's clear who you have to see. After all, what price can one put on one's health?
@Spinalogic Seems like you guys put a price on patient's health, and do it without much scientifically-proven backing. If the guy has back problems, a physical therapist would be ideal.
@chriscumbag You are misinformed. 1st, the Chiropractic adjustments Dr. Pete was giving in this video were for free. No money was involved. 2nd, the science proving Chiropractic is there and has been for decades. Google it. And 3rd, "a physical therapist would be ideal"? Oh dear... FYI, Physiotherapists focus on muscle and connective tissue, while Chiropractors focus on bone and nerve. If your spine is mechanically misaligned, no amount of soft tissue work will mechanically re-align it. Simple.
@Spinalogic The science behind the medical efficacy of chiropractic adjustments (or even the idea that spinal subluxations correlate to medical issues, for that matter) is very much in doubt. Many of the studies that promote chiropractic and its usage typically fail to find causation, typically only correlation. This is doubly damning, as patients who report feeling better are told ahead of time that they will feel better. Chiro has trouble proving its tech is not placebo effect, scientifically.
@chriscumbag Literally millions of before and after x-rays (i.e. scientific evidence) discount any notions of placebo effect. Physically misaligned bones do not re-align themselves. You may learn this first hand some day as I and countless others have. But in the mean time you are of course free to believe whatever you wish. The videos posted in this profile are not meant to convince anyone of anything. Enjoy them, or go elsewhere.
I heard of a DC that got into massage therapy and decided he could better aid patients doing only that. When you move a bone, the muscle is used to having that bone out of alignment. If you do not massage the muscle, it will pull the bone back out of place, requiring more visits to push it back again. I know massage therapists that are schooled in human anatomy, and can do the same thing with massage, allowing the bones to slide back into place. not discounting your profession, just saying.
Great vid, with quite the cast. An aussie chiro, a midget, a tall guy, a fat geek, and some guy that looks like an Amway salesman...and of course, a hottie getting adjusted!

ok tell me please, is chiropractic a real medical practice or is it more so just fancy joint popping that happens to bring some relief?
Emo92Fate 11 months ago
there's nothing wrong with having your spine properly aligned as long as the technique communicates to the muscles that they should relax.

Wow, you banned a guy from commenting for being a moron, when he's explaining why chiro is controversial? low class.

You banned him because he refuted your point with legitimate statements?
You're not helping the whole "Chiripractic isn't bullshit" argument.
