For those that don't know, Gradius 5 was the only game in the series that was produced by Treasure, creators of the famed Ikaruga. That's probably why this game had quite a few new and different things in it.

this game requires a lot of skill to play i had 2 use 9 continues on easy mode to finish the game.

Most SHMUPs are like this, more because people hardly play them much, you can't fall back on a walkthrough, and they don't give you a giant tutorial on how to beat it at the start. You have to learn on your feet. It's not actually as hard as it seems, just not as easy to learn as most games. Onece you get used to it, they can be quite forgiving.

Though, on the harder settings, they're still damn crazy.

Damn,on very hard too.Me and my friends beated this game but damn the later levels require you to have full speed or the stage moves so fast,it takes off without you killing youe 50X times,lol
