  • Kurt fu%$ed up by not releasing Scentless as In Utero´s first single

  • Wtf was he looking at before doing the song

  • Amazing how he sounds exactly like the recorded tracks. Bit to me. Kurt sings better live. I hate how they fix up his voice, the raspyness in his live music is what makes his voice amazing. One of the best musicians ever.

  • the guy was good...

  • kurt cobain would disagree with all the shit music today, from disco music and new wave music, they wrote something? Are you sure? they were to stupid for what nirvana or jimi hendrix did!!!

    FUCKOFF TODAYS CRAP MUSIC

  • @100DarkDude Kurt liked new wave and some dance music, fuck-head

he wasn't closed minded and limited to one genre as you seem to be

  • @timusukotto new wave and dance music??? what are you talking about??? ever heard something about GRUNGE??? they only had one song in new-wave dumbass! how can you post this here?

  • @100DarkDude 'they only had one song in new-wave dumbass'

I can see you don't know what that phrase means. And yes, look it up. He was a big fan of The Pixies, Gang of Four, Public Image Ltd, and even David Bowie.

And shit its grunge, but you can hear influences from many genres ranging from Blues to Pop.

  • @timusukotto in some ways you may be right, sorry for my disagreeing!

  • @100DarkDude yeah sorry but it bugs me when people try to limit things to ONE genre

he was a pretty open-minded dude and a great musician. so was jimi like you said

  • @timusukotto let him be a great musician forever! R.I.P Kurt Cobain

  • Kurt Cobain 1967 - FOREVER and EVER and EVER and EVER and EVERrrrrrrrrr

  • Almost 17 years that he's been gone! Unbelievable!!!

  • I'd give my left nut to watch these guys rehearse.

  • Is there anything Dave Grohl can't do? His drumming is so class it's unreal! Same as Kurt, absolute talented legend who done it for the music and not the money. Two of my all time heroes.

  • @bubi8894 your generation still got a chance to show the world with real talent as long as kids like you exist. its only the media now a days saturated with a lot of bull you know.. like paris hilton, the kardasians, justin blubber or whatever his name is. not a single talent and yet they are popular and earning millions just for being conceited, materialistic and having a sex video. but hey fuck the media. live you life. rock on!

  • @joycemarco so true. I'm really disgusted that so many people believe in this mainstream bullshit.

  • Yes, the guitar riff is from dave

he show kurt the riff at the recording to in utero

first kurt didn´t like the riff but when the song was finished he say that this is very good song

  • @LPchester77 wasnt' the recording to in utero, it was the endino demos.

  • Those camera guys are legend...

  • back in the day where music + talent is the only thing that mattered and is appreciated. im glad i was already in my teens in this era. music now suck big time. nirvana got me inspired to form my high school band years before and man it was the best time to be alive!

  • @joycemarco I'm so jealous of you. I really am. You're so lucky you don't have to be a teenager now, as I am....

  • i love how dave ties his hair in a bun for rehearsals :)

  • Dave actually wrote the verse to this song and Kurt really like it. That is why Dave can play the shit out of this song.

  • @skunkx101 dude, dave played the shit out of every song.

  • @skunkx101 no, he wrote the riff.

  • These were the days... never thought when we were at the concerts that one day he'd be gone. Worth remembering when you gaze upon your idols young people :-)

This type of music replaced the whole chintzy Michael Jackson / RnB dominated music charts. I loved it.

  • Oh, just *UCKING AWESOME. Absolutely LOVED this rehersal from START to FINISH. Kurt's just *UCKING AMAZING.

  • @whiteypetals i *UCKING agree xD

  • @spodomaticfreeze - Rock on. I totaly know. This performace was insane (in a good way). Nirvana live was just...amazing. Check out the Endless, Nameless song done live by Nirvana (the Halloween show).

  • it's drop d + 1/2 step down, so tune all your strings down half a step then match the 7th fret on the low E string to open A string.

  • or even easier, tune the low Eb to Db, one octave lower than the third string.

  • @daJodge lol that's what i meant, i just worded it kinda dumb. going from standard to Db/Ab/Db/Gb/Bb/Eb is best left up to a digital tuner anyways.

  • i like how kurt looks like he doesn't give a crap...

  • they played this song on a different way for that concert.. listen to the whole rehearsal audio... Kurt talks to the band something in the beggining to start out faster or something

  • FUCKING AWESOMEEEE!!!

  • Fucking Legend. This man will live on from his birth until the world explodes.

  • @Lazewski

    heeell yeah!

    kurt lives!!!!!!!

  • @Lazewski u made a mistake take out the world put in the universe

  • @Lazewski i 2nd that ! true greatness !!!

  • WHAT DID HE TUNE HIS GUITAR TO?!

    i need it please :D

  • @DrumGuitarDude Drop D or Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb

  • @02010 someone told me it's a drop C# tuning, and you tune down your A,D,G,B, and High E strings down a half step, so it should look like this(from Low E to High E):

    C#

    G#

    C#

    F#

    A#

    D#

  • @quietcrowd

I think what i said and what you said is the same thing.

  • @02010 yeah it kinda is

  • in D

  • drop d buddy.

  • what is that riff he's playing from like :30 to :40? is that a demo we never heard?

  • Sounds very slightly like Something In The Way

  • @mjshot1

    Something in the Way

  • how big is that F'in mounted tom? hahah 16" probably

  • Close....it's a 15"

  • i seen that face dave! u nob

  • good camera angles of the camera guys head

  • grohl is amazing, any one would play so much better with him.

  • my all-time favorite...

  • What's up with the 'Bunch of fuckers!' guy at the beginning? :L

  • ALso adjust the pedal to the desire level

  • I found the way how to play the drum in this song. Try to use your ankle muscle along with your leg muscle. Better explained you must have your feet finger only placed in the pedal. In this position you can move your ankle like you were shivering (beacause this position makes your leg shake beacause of the nervous orders duplicate force)

  • feet finger? haha toes!

  • grande dave, nunca uso pedal doble, siempre se la rifo como es¡¡¡¡

  • U mean, I had 2 separete pedasls or just one?

  • this is so cool to watch.

  • does dave use one of those double foot pedal things cause i can do it with one foot but its quit hard keeping it flowwing well and i couldnt do it for as long as the song goes because my muscle on my shin starts to strain

  • dave never ever used double pedal when playing drums. i also can do it with one foot ,but is's impossible for me to play the whole song without a single mistake.

  • same here the bass pedal always gets off timing for me but thats what you get for competing with dave:P

  • yeah . well, you CAN play it, but you have to really practice a lot. you know, you could make it more simple by playing double pedal , but it wont be the same ;)

  • Dave doesnt need double pedals, hes the man,i think he used a double pedal in 'no one knows' though, didnt he?

  • na mate he didnt. he'sjust really good

  • im sure he did, watch the video, hes stomping both feet,im sure, doesnt sound like no hi hat on the other foot ethier, but yeah, hes like, retardadly good

  • i love to rehearsals of nirvana's songs!

  • I love how Nirvana plays. They changed things up so much yet everyone still loved it. That's when you know your a band.

  • u bunch of fuckers lol

  • the video 16 seconds lol!! fucker lmao

  • They start playing something in the way but kurts stops

  • best song ever by Nirvana

  • kurt looks high

  • lol, i just beileved he always looked off somewhere, not "just" high

  • i wouldn't doubt it at this point. thumbs me down all you want.

  • He was not high in this show, he just never took rehearsals seriously. He just hums aimlessly in the Very Ape rehearsals, but he's not on drugs.

  • If you mean that he wasn't singing that good in the Very Ape rehearsals, it's because he preserved his voice.

  • thy are both in dorp d

  • i love nirvana

  • Good on you.

  • this is great thanks

  • mesa boogie studio preamp

  • nirvanas live sound was still the best! pretty unique and special...today every band sounds like the same overgained piece of shit...mesa boogie triple crap...

  • @lostandwounded

I signed up with youtube just so I could give that a thunbs up!

  • @lostandwounded i wish i was around in these days

  • i think was Krist ....

  • 0:15 anybody hear a person say bunch of fuckers? just listen closely.... :/

  • sounds like krist

  • yeah i think it was krist too

  • i think so too. it's krist.

  • este video es asombroso!

  • hes not using double bass right?

  • nope. all foot!

  • thts fucking awsum right?

  • It's the best show of nirvana I never see

  • i think the whole show and sound check should be digitally remastered and produced on dvd/blueray

  • man i love this song!! the riff just destroy!! :D

  • this is one of my favorites

  • Does anyone know the song or riff Kurt was playing in the very beggeneing when he was tuning his guitar that dave was kinda playing along to?

  • I think you might be thining of "Something in the Way"

  • This rehearsal footage is FANTASTIC!

    Thanks for providing us, Arboria!

I agree about Grohl's drumming - simple but fantastic.

I used to play drums and was always amazed his fast bass drum foot.

  • I don't think Radiohead suck. They have a few really great albums. But I like Nirvana a million times better. Greenday? I don't think they suck, but i am really bored by them now. I don't listen to them usually at all.

  • yeah the drums and that guitar riff make this song

    i love it

  • hpw the hell does dave do that shit on the drums? What ever he touches is gold.

  • Its not too hard, as long as you get the technique down its really easy to do a lot of dave grohls stuff.

But at the same time, thats what makes it so difficult!

  • @SgtFlippy26 well, when he's on the drums at least...

  • @precinctful yeah, foo fighters are pretty crap, except for Everlong.

  • @SgtFlippy26 You answered your own question... It is Dave Grohl... We all must bow down and worship!

  • He acted so cool on stage...

  • The Best Vocal In The World!

  • watch, you fucker!

  • How can you compare Nirvana to the shit that its greenday.

    You don't know shit!!!

    Nirvana are the best.

  • nirvana by 10 times.

How could you comapre nirvana to nirvana?

green day are slock rockers that try to hard

  • almost had me going there 7/10

  • lol

  • wow now that i think bout it its difficult at first but its not so hard now

  • how the hell dose dave do the bass with one foot....hes rele good...can soem one tell me how to do that

  • it's easy. try it.

  • Keep at it, it might take a while but you'll get there. Maybe buy a better pedal.

  • the best advice i can give, i mean i am a beginning drummer, so it may not be right, but what my opinion is just try and listening to just the bass, first or whatever and just tap it out with ur foot, then just gradually add the different drums, i think thats how it works, not to sure though, it is hard for me to fallow beats but if you can then that is the best advice i can give, keep playin man.

  • Its triplets on Bass Drum/Floor Tom/Rack Tom.

  • Its not triplets, He's doing a lot of continuous 16ths on the bass drum, which is even more impressive. If you listen carefully in the vocal sections when he goes to the toms, I swear he plays constant bass drum underneath. Awesome

  • Aye, after i posted that i realised that i was talking about the wrong thing. I was reffering to the fill he always does with the floor tom/rack tom/bass drum.

But aye, the intro and all is 16ths. Not too hard, but you need a fast foot

  • This song is almost impossible to play on guitar by the way, shows his genius here, THEY ALL DID, amazing drum intro bass and especially guitar.

  • lol this songs actually really easy to play on guitar

  • Its very easy on guitar. drums are very hard

  • :S How did you get this?!! :O

  • das parfum super

  • sweet tune when kurt wuz starin at that vagina lol

  • thats not kurt.

  • Are you high? Dude its clearly kurt.

  • No, I meant thats not Kurt COBAIN!!!

  • i dont get what you mean...

  • Maybe he had another picture of Kurt in mind or he thinks Kurt is not the same in the vid as usually.

  • Maybe he had another picture of Kurt in mind or he thinks Kurt is not the same in the vid as usually.

  • he's kurt, no doubt!!!

  • no is isnt.

  • why do you insist to say that is not kurt??it clearly kurt with the other members in the rehearsal bedore live n loud!!!

  • I love that beginning intro thing, it sounds so fkin awesome

  • That was Something in the Way with a poppier drum groove.

  • And so is this one, I edited this.

  • many ppl stole your vids huh?

  • RIP Kurt

  • thats not kurt

  • the best grunge band that's what it is

  • Kurt was the best!!!Nirvana is the best punk rock band in the world!!!They totally changed our generation!!!

  • pretty awesome !

  • killer riff killer drums killer bass.

  • you mean kurt cobain ? xD

  • who was that guys name and how long was in nirvana for?

  • Pat Smear. One of Kurts closest friends, he used to play for The Germs. He later joined Dave in the Foo's.

He was with Nirvana for those last few months, pretty much toured with them that whole year till the end.

  • ok thanks:)

  • I wonder why he quit FF so fast?

  • Me too. Recently he has played with them, like a guest, on some songs i guess.

  • I´ll never know the name of that awesome melody before Scentless Apprentice...

  • Underneath a bridge, top has sprung a leak -

  • under the bridge?

  • what were they playing at the beginning before scentless apprentice?

  • Something in the way

  • something in the way

  • at :32 seconds? really? it doesn't sound like it to me.. :(

  • actually i guess it does, sorta, like faster

  • I love how NIRVANA is on stage and the camera guy is more excited about the other camera guy.
