Did you know by the way, (to end all this homophobic conversation)
The Swedes have a very low masculinity culture, meaning the equality between men and women exists there for real. I think that's a really great thing to have.
Just based on a study by Geert Hofstede and figures. I really don't know the culture all that well, since I've been to Stockholm only for a week.
how stupid are you? Other comments not resembling your opinion is the exact point to downrating. Same as if you AGREE and give it a good rating even though it might be an ignorant and narrowminded insight.
How sad somebody gave you a thumbs down do you need your blankie?
A "good" comment is a reasonable on-topic reaction to the video, regardless of the opinion. A "bad" comment is trolling, swearing, claims without evidence or saying 2012 will be the apocalypse.
Let me spell it out for you.
Good comment:
"Great quality, but I really don't like this kind of music"
Bad comment:
"WTF DIS GUY IS GAY FUCK U AN UR MOTHER SLIPKNOT RULZ"
Do you know what "downrating" other opinions in real life is called?
What part of this are you not getting? Personal opinion is the only thing dictating whether or not somebody clicks thumbs up instead of thumbs down. If they don't agree with you, they have every right to give you a thumbs down.
It's about as much my place to call others stupid, as it is for you to try and control the way people rate comments.
If, however, you are referring to rating the video, well then there are stars for that. Ringing a bell?
Just because somebody gave your comment a bad rating doesn't mean they're Belittling you (or downrating if you would prefer)
You seem intelligent enough, but you just don't seem to grasp the concept of freedom of choice and will. For example.
how many videos are out there where the topic quickly turns from music to religion? Ignorant, probably, annnoying, yes. But the bottom line is that people are shallow and callous, and not agreeing with their opinion is EXACTLY why they downrate.
I couldn't care less about getting downrated, I do think it's strange to "remove" someone's comment it doesn't match your ideas.
My point is that there is a difference between good comments and comments that match your opinion.
Funny you should say that, because "not letting the other guy talk" could be seen as "violation of freedom of speech". I know that sounds extreme, but do freedom of choice and will outweigh freedom of speech?
I'm not forcing people to change their behavior, just my 2cs
Unfortunately music is becoming nothing more than a mere fad. Or what those brainless zombies call music. I will have to agree with the previous users who've posted on this thread. Real music is becoming difficult to come by now-a-days. It seems being hip with the crowd is more important than expressing what one is endorsed by their own souls to express, rather than these senseless, taste-less ear bleeders of the that are out now. Luckily we have Candy rat.
@HikoruTheBrokenBlade you said it right! Artists like Jimmy Wahlsteen should be more popular, but its probably not going to happen. But, as long as he makes his music and enjoys doing it, and we enjoy listening to it, thats all that really matters!
@mikegurnham HikoruTheBrokenBlade's comment really implies that if his music were more popular, it would be a fad (which s/he gives a negative connotation). I think this illustrates a false dichotomy between music being popular, and music being good. It really can be both (Radiohead = popular, trendy, and good)
@HikoruTheBrokenBlade i have to say that as much truth there is to shitty sold-out bands being a dime a dozen, the number of good artists has really increased in recent years (the percentage has gone down though). but yeah, candyrat filters the good artists for the best
@HikoruTheBrokenBlade Though culture is shaped by music and vice versa, the claim that some music is not really music (taste-less ear bleeders) seems to imply a correct or justified standard by which one could say, "this is not music, but rather a fad." I would challenge one to find such a universal standard. Until then, I find it difficult to accept that "some music is an expression of the soul (since apparently it has to be) and other "music" is total crap.
@HikoruTheBrokenBlade I agree that this is a beautiful song, but I always find it interesting that there are lovers of certain genres that will say that about other types of music for different reasons. For instance, there are people who feel that way about this song. Who's to say they're any more wrong or right than you? Every song is real, and every song has SOME meaning behind it. I'm a classical music fan myself, and it's tough not to be critical of "today's music", but I try to understand.
@m0rl0rd i try to understand todat's music as well. but what meaning could be hiding be hind songs like "Peacock" or "Like a boss"? you gotta agree it's gettint more and more difficult to do that ):
Ross already has a new album (about 2 months new), Dufour recorded an album as host with Sébastien Cloutier and Mckee is on tour in Portugal, EU, so he's too busy to compose..
It's time for the music industry to give credit where credit is due. I'm growing quite tired of Avril Lavigne, 50 cent, Kanye West and a million other talentless dumbasses gettin rich...
well, I can't argue with that. Have you seen YouTube's most viewed videos of all time list lately? Hint: Avril Lavigne, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus...
Hate to judge him before the music, but he looks like one of te hugest flamers *gay person* that I've ever seen, that said, he's a damn good Guitarist.
His sexual orientation has nothing to do with anything that's not sex. It's a shame people throw that in with any other quality or lack thereof someone has.
I gave it five i think the use of the string tap on to the last fret with such rhythmic consistancy is pretty impressive. This guys still not as good as andy mckee or vicki genfan. But i like his songs. They'd sound good if played with a female vocalist.
I dunno, the styles seem to be too different to really compare who's better. I actually kind of like Jimmy's songs more than Vicki's. I think it's really more about personal taste rather than who is better.
it sounds like "more than words" O.O

Folks, don't downrate comments because they don't resemble your opinion.
An opinion is always subjective opinion of one person, who cares if someone else doesn't really like it, let them talk too. :)
Peace

yah .. it's such a shame that REAL music is buried in oblivion bit by bit ..
all these kids, trying to be like mileys cyrus and what else .. all blinded by these fancy-schmancy world broads..
I mean .. lately I was searching for something on youtube and I just typed an "L" and the first auto-complete proposal was "lady gaga"
what happened to good old man made music.. ?

it's all on candyrat now

What are you talking about? Everyone knows that music sucks unless it's made by almost naked women.
Musicality and creativity is secondary to tits in music... everyone knows that.
Sarcasm aside I agree and I want to see more of this on music channels and less lady gaga and reality shows
spamodell 2 years ago 8
@derwrisi You need to hear what lady gaga was like before she bowed down to the "pop" industry. She was -in my opinion_ a brilliant artist.
Now she is nothing more than a slowly burning shit lamp.

I think that this situation is good. Candyrat earns certainly lot of money to ensure everything to make good music, but nothing more.
And thats fine - Avril is pretty talented, but she sings to earn money, not to express herself.Commerciality leads to imperfection.
