What they don't say is that Tony actually uses internal dampening fields that allow his body to withstand those maneuvers and allow himself to withstand the g-forces exerted upon him during flight. We don't have (or publicly know about) that technology yet ;)

The Jet Pack is nice...but kind of lame when compared to the stuff Developed for military use. For instance the Williams X-Jet (( watch?v=wHJBvtr0H-E ))
is almost as compact as this Jet Pack. Nicknamed the Flying Pulpit it looked something like a Segway that flew! They could fly 60mph for up to 45 minutes, and this was 1980's technology! Assuming they kept researching this type of device...That they might have some black ops Flying suit 'a la' Iron Man is NOT too hard to belive at all!

has any one fort about making some boots to go with the jet pack thing that that swedish guy made? like making a boot out of a light metal, and having the booster a couple of inches off the ground, maybe have 2 boosters on each foot, combined with the 4 boosters he has on his back, that would give him a total of 8 boosters, maybe he can get off the ground

If you can't recite the Quantum Chromodynamic Gauge Inveriant Legrangi, or have very little to no knowledge in the fields of theoretical and quantum physics, chances are, not only could you not build a suit as advanced as that, but you'd probably die, or get arrested trying. Power is knowledge and keeping that secret is something of a no brainer, think of the technology they had to go to the moon in the 60's and what did they have 40 years before that? and what would they have now????

Actually anypne here gets popular science (probably not) That is in development now. Even a suit that looks much like Iron Man. But it cant fly. It can jump 40 feet in the air and lift a couple thousand pounds. But is still in prototypr stages

What they don't say is that Tony actually uses internal dampening fields that allow his body to withstand those maneuvers and allow himself to withstand the g-forces exerted upon him during flight. We don't have (or publicly know about) that technology yet ;)

@MadeOfTheEpicWin Problem with creating an armor like this will always be the power needed to generate that kind of thrust, sustained flight, and weapon use....oh, and then miniaturizing it, haha. That's why it's sci-fi...oh, and the internal dampening fields to protect everything inside the armor...not sure how that would quite work with physics and the human body being 98% water...Pretty sure you would have some kind of brain damage from the armors airbrakes...but again...scifi
