In my training, we did not just "look" at the pieces as we removed them from the box, but also used our sub-dominant hand to gently stroke each piece to get a sensorial impression of width and height (as a point of interest).
It is also good to know that there are other presentations on this lesson, (comparing pieces to the image on the lid, building each layer outside of the box, laying it out in "equation form", etc.). These lessons might be given later, when the child is ready.
My botany cabinet is not on my sensorial shelf. However, I think that including it in this presentation might help to explain the multidisciplinary aspect of the Montessori classroom to others!
Isn't this the trinomial cube?

Florydory; yes I didn't think of that. and don't think that aspect of the material was explained. but that works. thanks

The video is beautiful. It does strike a wonderful balance in introducing an overview of Montessori, and the trinomial cube.
My other comment would be for teachers, as part of a dialog to refine our lessons and to share information.

Interesting that the leaf cabinet was included in this video of sensorial curriculum. I am wondering what the thoughts are about this.
