Maroon 5's target audience isn't children, it's not even really teenagers, they are classified by AMG as a rock band but are most accurately classified as adult contemporary. Maroon 5 targets mostly young adult female's as their core record sales group. And I doubt you do understand what "moves like jagger" really means.

I would find it amazing if someone at 12 or 13 was fully aware of who Mick Jagger is outside of Ke$ha's song, especially a typical American teenager at this age. He's before most of their parents generation of "in" music, so it wouldn't be talked about, and he was "adult contemporary" and edgy and innovative for his time, and therefore wouldn't truly be taught by most parents, not impossible, just unlikely
