  • this Taqsim is definitely one of the best melodies I've ever heard

    pure oriental soul <3

  • Great Music..thumbs up!!!! Yeah..

  • It was invented by me, Shut the fuck up and listen to the music,

    Fuck Nativism!

  • 2 People Have no Ear

  • @ssaa444 nope it was invented by the turkish

  • @jakeawake5763 Nope,it was invente by ALIENS!ET brought it to iraqi people

People, the first lutes were made by Assyrians and Agyptians but who gives a shit? They were being modified for thousands of years by Arabs,Persians,Iraqis,Greeks,Turks,Kurds......They belong to all of us

  • Its make me Fly <3<3

  • all this talk is silly, everyone knows the eskimos invented the oud, the story goes like this.. several thousand years ago, after a summer night of seal rapage on the ice flows west of greenland, a passionate and volatile Inuit man took violated seal corpse, skinned it, made a body from the ribcage and bound it with sinew, and used gut remains for strings.. the skin was wrapped tight around the bones and allowed to dry for several days.. a hole was added for additional rapage.

  • Oud = Arab, even the word "oud" translates to "wood"

  • armenian music best music

  • @mygoodname he is true < The oud = Arab

  • A very very good performance. I've always wanted to play the oud, but I have not had the chance to play this instrument. Once again, a very good job:)!!!

  • but this music played by armenian :)

  • he is very good but hes playing it in a spanish style .. listen to the oud played by an arab . totally different

  • OUD = MUSICAL INSTRUMENT = HUMAN = NO BOUNDERIES = UNIVERSAL = METAPHYSICS = GOD

  • oud=music

  • @mygoodname the first stringed intrustment was persian, then arabs made oud, eropians took oud and made a lute, sapin took lute and made a guitar...

  • @mygoodname the oud is an ancient instrument from mesopotamia. so obviously its not persian or arabic though the instrument used today is as u said modified by the arabs, and persians, sumerians, akkadians, turks etc but not invented by persians. the oldest record of a oud had four strings and was found in modern day nasiriyah, iraq. so there you have it. there are lots of different types of ouds but the oud was invented in what we today call iraq and not by persians cuz they didnt even exist.

  • @saadpwn Indeed, the oud is an incredibly ancient instrument.

  • @Sinfulcola send me your work then.

  • @celebratingfantasy like it's worth the effort.... do you have special needs or something?

  • @Sinfulcola you said you can play the lute and you are prof at playing oud! so i need you to proof that to me as im collecting some unique works.

  • Music is Music

  • Guyz dont need to argue..Persians,Turks,Arabs..We are the same the best shit :)

  • Beautiful!!!!!!!

  • hello , may i ask how is tuned the ud???

    thanks

  • hello, very good play; and feelin'//may i ask how he's tuned????

    thanks.....

  • this song is an Armenian folk song which describes the daily life in Armenia i forgot the name

  • oud = Armenia and Persia not =Arab

  • @TheTheOctavate the first oud was invented in the north of iraq (mosul) and had four strings.... it is an arabic instrument but they also make it in turkey and iran..

  • pretty damn amazing that someone can play at that speed for nearly 8 minutes. :O

  • Typical Turkish Oud playing

  • I don't care about the "nationality" of a music.

I liked it ... I am Arabic but I like the Armenian, Turkish, Greek, Kurdish and Persian intonations. each have a nice flavor and taste.

    Long live music ;)

  • nice song whats it called?

  • I don't see any passion in his playing.. so he's not playing the oud

  • hes playing an Armenian song

  • OMG, that beautiful! I wonder if he has any albums on itunes.... I'd love to buy them

  • music to stir the souls of man ya salem

  • great!

  • Does any one know how this guy tunes his oud?

  • he is playing oud in the best way possible:of course in turkish style.

  • @RefikTalat

    Armenian Style my friend

  • this man is dirty at it damn... i wana play as good as he can.

  • hes playing armenian music

  • hi every one...pls can someone help me...

i have an nice turkish oud and i want tune it in arabic tuning: FADGCF or in turkish tuning: F#BEADG my question is...is it possible to tune it so?..can it dmg the oud because it´s such an high tuning or is it feasible :)

  • What is A in Turkish is actually E in western music, or what is D is actually A; fourth lower. So do NOT tune your oud as F#BEADG; you will ruin it! It should be C#F#BEAD as on a piano. When you play it you think it as F#BEADG.

I don't know why there is no clear information about this, I see the same mistake being made all over the net. Hope this would be helpful.

  • It is also one of the main instrument of clasical turkish music.

  • great instrument isn't it??? i love ud, lute, and other eastern and mediterranean instruments! have you ever listened to cretan lyra?? it goes perfect with lute or ud tunes. more mediterranean style of course but is still great! try psarantonis or sth.

  • nope, oud doesnt have any frets

  • do ouds have frets?

  • no ....the arabic and original oud have not frets...europian oud is with frets but its copy ...

  • yay, i love fretless instruments, its so much easier because you don't have to figure out which one you have to be playing. and shifting positions is so much easier too.

  • he is pretty good, i play OUD my self , but i still cant feel the arabian melody in it, hope he plays a melody which is more arabian style if will sound amazing....THANKS

  • the songs he's playing aren't arabic

  • @mygoodname can he play maqamat?

  • @mygoodname this is an arabic melody, if it sounds a lil bit like spanish, maybe its because arabs colonised in Andalusia (currently spain) which the spanish adopted many of their cultural aspects...

  • @bakrione my oud teacher only plays Armenian and Turkish songs. this song is not Arabic, but our culture is similar so it may sound ARabic

  • @bakrione my oud teacher only plays Armenian and Turkish songs. this song is not Arabic, but our culture is similar so it may sound ARabic

  • That is Amazing!!!!!

    Greetings from Greece

  • Anyone else notice that the sync is REALLY off?

  • little bit, Awesomeness though!!

  • That's is how it's played.

  • that is the way the OUD is played...its not an acoustic guitar,

  • your teacher is a MASTER

where is your teacher from ?

  • fresno california usa

  • i know brother, but arabic notes on oud sound perfect so i thought if he can play an arabic oud solo, it would be great... peace

  • Aió .... Then , now it's time to built together , but at first both -we , Armeninas, and Turkish - gotta resolve our past, clear our present and have consciousness of what great things we could do TOGETHER !!!

  • Armenians create...our neighbors destroy....

  • What are you implying?

  • i love generalizations. it makes the people who say them sound ignorant and stupid

  • Very versatile..esp at 1;50 its sounds like he is playing Malaguena...

  • beautiful ? sen bir de iki kadeh rakı parlat şu müzikle gör ondan sonra beautiful nasıl oluyor vre haberiniz yok güzelden güzel der durursunuz

  • You're so lucky to have this oudist as your instructor. Spectacular.

  • I can definitely see how spanish guitar is a descendant of this.

  • @Dauphinplayer fucku bitch !

  • @Dauphinplayer This was probably brought during the golden age of Islam (as a culture, not only as a religion), the abbasid caliphate in Al-Andalous. in this time (7th-13th century): christians and jews could live peacefully on the same territory, no one never need to convert. and culture mixed together to create all what we got from spain to india into multituds of wonders, as flamenco, guitar and other dances...

  • @Dauphinplayer True, true
