Im 14 and I was diagnosed when I was 4, living with diabete for a long 10 years. The last 2 years havent been very good, and Ive been trying too get better for the longest time. Im the only diabetic in my grade level, and its hard to explain to people that I have diabetes without all the questions that come afterwards. All these videos of teens with T1 diabetes has inspired me to make a video of my regular day as a diabetic, and finally change the way I take care of myself....
I did the NC diabetes walk today I support all with diabetics even though I can't walk with every group I can be in the walk for a cure. :) I hope we find a cure very soon.
Wooooo! Type 1 Diabetes for the win! It is far from a death sentence, in fact most diabetics know more about health and diet then those without. These days Type 1 diabetics are living longer and fuller lives. I am Type 1, my daughter is a Type 1, my father is a Type 1 and his mother was a Type 1. Keep on truckin' Samantha!
@webkinz5055 My daughter has been a Type 1 sicne she was 6. She is 13 now as well. I am a Type 1, so is my dad and his mom was. Grab a book by the name Think Like A Pancreas by Gary Sheiner sometime, and Using Insulin by John Walsh. They are amazing books... Mention them to your parents. They are a diabetics Bible I swear. If you have any questions about diabetes, drop me a line sometime. I am obsessed with it and knowledge about it and insulin.

You are such a brave girl Samantha. I wish you the best! Thank you for sharing this with all of us. We have alot to learn about diabetes, and hopefully one day there will be a cure.
i wish so much that Samantha will a happy child and have a goodlife ahead of her, she is such a brave girl, i am actually only 2 years older then her! but i still undestand how it is to live with this illness, my heart goes out to all the children out there suffering, and i have donated £100 of my own money to a UK search foundation nearby where i live xxx
