Actually, all the engine sounds in Gran Turismo's is wrong, which is a shame becuse it's a beautiful game...in games like Forza they have at least recorded the sounds from many of the cars in real

@fanofdiesel - the GT series (including 5) has always had horrendous sound. Pretty graphics but sound immersion is totally gone. It is a huge tragedy because the game would be so much better if they could get that facet right.

@fanofdiesel Yup! Lack of transmission noise also subtracts huge amounts from realism. After racing in GTR2 for PC I started noticing more that it is not so much about just the engine or exhaust notes but everything else going on too.
