Pretty sure if James Cagney were still alive he'd probably bitch about anybody using his movie as a song title...
regardless, this is a dope track, great concept and dope beat by J57...Sandman covers all bases here: the token straphanger who winces at the sight of a homeless person, the actual homeless person and finally a person who sympathizes with the homeless (which i'd assume would be Sandman himself)...
@toneriggz agreed..and in addition to that if ANYONE were to be bitchin, it'd probably be all the Eric Clapton/CREAM fans bitching about how he sample the first 20 seconds from "White Room" lol
this song is about homeless (angels with dirty faces), i heard him talk about it in an interview. Sandman may be difficult to understand because of his quick, somewhat mumbled delivery, but if you really take the time to listen he always has a message and its usually unique or at least something talked about before being discussed in a fresh way. He's a really great lyricist too, sandman's dope!, just gotta listen...
@itsMrCakes2u Let us know when Peter Rosenberg, DJ Premier & DJ Eclipse plays your record because they like your song/beat. J57, on the other hand can say yes to that. Thanks and continue to make zero moves in your pathetic existence.
this is pretty dope i just saw your article in the new xxl you pretty good homie we need real rap like this not about guns drugs money jewelry and women.
@nemesis700 you suck if you dont like this.why cant people appreciate good shit? then again everyone is entitled to their own opinion even if it sucks.
@nemesis700 now ur just fucking hating, seriously u commented on his other shit. give it a rest no one is listening. u dont like it fine. unless u have constructive criticism GTFO
Queens! It seems the world ain't ready for his unique super lyrical style with crazy rhymes and vocabulary. He's definitely ill. Hip Hop needs more original artists like Homeboy Sandman.
hes so sick, but if he came more precise, I mean the way he pronounces could be a lot better, his lyrics are real innovative, kinda like nas a lil bit, I hope his shit catches on, cuz it might open some eyes as to what the culture REALLY IS and should be, he has a very unique outlook that is very positive and that rare in NY mcs right now, watch he'll blow up like bob did
thank you for finally putting this track on youtube i heard it first on okayplay 2010 and beyond for real hip hop sandmans flow is tight and the beat is sick
Yo, that's our boy...Yo, Sandman, you speak with such honor and grace on this track. Big ups to my man J57 on the beat...peace homies...next time we see each other it's a cookout!
I'd love to see a video for this. Not that it needs one, but I'd still love to see it.

Back on the topic at hand:
Homeboy Sandman's lyrics/subjectmatter on this track is phenomenal and J57 of the Brown Bag All Stars made a memorable/amazing beat.
Props to Homeboy Sandman and J57
