Lol, He was probably like ". . . FUCK!" when he flipped the table with Rocket ammo! Ok so i have built my own computer. The specs: Phenom II X3 720 2.8ghz, GIGABYTE GA-MA785G-UD3H Mobo, Gskill 4gb DDR2 800mhz, HD 4850 512mb ram. I am playing Crysis and at most i get is 30 fps. I thought i would be getting higher fps with a higher clocked processor instead of the Phenom 9150e x4 (1.8ghz).
I am running Vista Black Eternity 64 bit so i dont know if this has to do with it. Can someone comment. I am at 1440x900 very high and i am still getting performance as a phenom X4 9150e.
Have you tried to update the drivers of your graphiocs card. I have a 9800 gt and i had pretty bad performances on very high, but i updated the drivers and fps increased considerably
Crysis is a game that relies heavily on your graphics card(s) not the CPU. The Phenom 9150e is obviously keeping up with the 4850 so increasing the clock speed or upgrading the CPU won't increase you're FPS. You only need a faster CPU if you have a graphics card that can keep up. Chuck another 4850 or 4850 X2 in your system and you'll get playable frame rates at High.
yeah it appears so, someone had told me it was because of my processor i was gettingg bad frams. I have to admit, the more powerful X3 720BE is giving me better perfromance on intense scenes.
ok man u gotta tell me how cause i have the same card on a phenom X4 9150e quad core (1.8ghz, low clock i know but i've heard it shouldnt matter much) , and i cant get decent frames when there is a bunch of action with these settings? what mod r u using?
You heard it shouldn't matter much. You shouldn't listen to common idiots. You bought a weak processor. A high-clocked dual-core is much more efficient than a low-clocked quad.
well now i realize it does kinda. it depends on the game. crysis is very dependent on GPU but a solid processor helps though like in this case. I have set my game to very high and 2xAA at 1440x900 and it does give me 15~30fps even on my low end quad. I didnt purchase the quad it was from a gateway computer. I didn't custom build my computer except replacing the PSU and GPU. when there is a lot of action it crawls and i set it to high to very high with no AA. i guess its the price i pay right?
lol 1,8Ghz? clock it over 3Ghz then you should have better fps. My old Pentium 4 3Ghz (OC to 3,8Ghz) even runs this game better then your quad and pentium 4 has only 1 core.
yeah no kidding, i realize now that current games are not optimized for multiple core processors. I wish i could OC my processor but i cant because my computer is pre made by Gateway and thus i cant OC on the Mobo's Bios. I cant change the speed. I have ATI overdrive but i dont know how to use it to OC my processor (if that's possible). I OC my GPU aith catalyst but i dont know how to OC my CPU with ATi's Overdrive program. help?
i think overdive just oc's the gpu, i had a ati card an thats all the overdrive done to me no way to oc the cpu i dont think, moved to nvidia now anyway so i cant help you by having a quick peak around catalyst anymore either
AMD Overdrive I meant AMD Overdrive. It won't let me OC my CPU. There is AMD OVerdrive (for CPU) and ATI Overdrive for GPU. I have both. ATI's works for my 4850, AMD won't work because fu**ing Gateway locked my Bios so i cant do much when it comes to overclocking.
ah right yeah my bad then, unlucky m8 that cpu probably has alot of to offer but just cant be used because of gateway. my advice dont buy pre builds always go custom much more fun sometimes cheaper with more performance and you always know exactly whats in it
haha, do you know why? because 1440x900 is less demanding than 1280x1024, pick a calculator, 1440x900 pixels=1296000pixels, 1280x1024=1310720, so the card got less pixels to work on with 1440x900, its why its less demanding
1280x1024 has more pixels than 1440x900 ? O'RLLY? ! NO WAY!!! Yeah no shit i know that. SO you think that he difference between those two resolutions makes that much of a difference? lol no it doesnt. trust me. I have toyed around with it. Those two resolutions are very close. what really draws that power is the anti aliasing which demands more out of a graphics card than 14720 more pixels. The problem for me is my slow clock speed (1.8ghz) of my quad core. sry didnt mean to sound like a jerk
IT DOES make a difference but not like difference between no aa and 8xaa, but the difference is very small BUT its something, 1.8ghz quad? omg! you know this game only runs at 2 treads (they said 4 but its REALLY 2)which means your 4 tread cpu will get half the performance, but use amd overdrive and just put the vcore to 1.4 and fsb up by 10 and run a game for 5 min if it dont reboot go back and put the fsb up by 10 that until you hit when it will reboot, you will get to 2.4ghz noprob ,maxtemp75
How much FPS could I have in 1280/1024 no AA and 800/600 no AA?I'd rather to lower the resolution for better FPS (1066*600 on a 720p TV the difference isn't big)
You know.., I used to run this game on high, because I'm using windows xp, but about a few months ago I knew that we can tweak the dx9, so we can reach a higher graphic level on windows xp. And it's sooooo... heavy!!! I got like 20-30FPS in 1280 x 1024 in very high xp! man!!! This game is a monster!!!
Hey, is there any much difference between no aa and 2aa like in this video? And is it worthed? Because aa in this game is such a killer for your system!
I didnt get the game yet but i'd say about 20-35 fps, a little better then him cause of the processor and a little faster memory. Bestbuy has a sale on memory btw so I'd buy some extra :)
very good apart from graphics card. i7 is insane. Id go for 4870 or 4870x2 to be able to keep up with the processor. Id say 600W also to be safe. I got 550W with a 4850 and its doing ok but thats with a dual-core only.
Well I'm getting a MUCH better deal from new egg for $20.00 more. specs: Intel i7 920 6gb ddr3 1333mhz HIS Icq 1gb 4850 700w PSU Vigor III dual fan system 1tb harddrive and a very nice EVGA MoBo- EVGA 132-BL-E758 only thing is putting it together and waiting for 4 days of shipping/processing. worth it imho.
yuck.. dont get a 9600gt... your throwing your money away. if your getting an nvidia get 9800gtx or 9800gx2, or 260 , or 280 (those are basicly best nvidia cards for crysis) for ati, get either an ati radeon hd 4850 or 4870. the 4850's are like less than 150 bucks now
I am getting this card some time this week and just looking over the net to see what it will be like. I am amazed! I have a q6600 @ 2.4gHz each and 4gb of ram, how well this run?

On my phenom 9850 2.5ghz, radeon 4850, and 4 gb ram kingmax 800(power box chieftec 450 watt) . I have smooth game but I have got some strange squares on the sky. What is the problem? what should I do? (chieftec 450 watt)
BFziomowiec 3 years ago
Yeah dude your powerbox is too low for you Pc.you will need a powerbox with real 600watts and you need to checkout about the news drivers.
