I don't know how to explain this, but when I first heard this song its was like if George Harrison were saying to them (Ringo&Paul) : "Hey dude I'm alright here, don't be sad for me. I'll just be waiting for you to come". :D
This song completely knocked me off my feet. THIS is definitely what I call music and Paul McCartney is, in my opinion the most talented living musician. He is so versatile and his music can evoke any emotion. As much as I love this song, it might make you cry, like John with the Beatles' 1965 "In My Life" when you think about the loss of someone you care about. I love the song and I think Paul McCartney is a peerless artist.
I saw the wole concert on tv a very few years ago, and I remember a bit just before that song when he speaks of the time when the beatles used to record theirs songs in Abbey road; it was very sad, for a moment he seems unable to find his words and his voice fails like one who is about to cry. Next, he says he wrote this song for George, began to sing it, and then I was the one who was about to cry...
Cool idea... Paul trying to channel George. One of my favorite songs from "Chaos". Great album... like a bookend to "McCartney" with him playing all the instruments.
I think this is a beautiful song with lovely, subtle minor chord changes. Very, very pretty; more sophisticated than it seems. The kind of song you want to play over and over again and then learn for yourself.
Touchy song

I love how paul said that it was as if when he was writing it, George was writing it for him , saying he's ok.

@BeatleBangs1964 I love the lyrics to this tune not to mention the melody. Sad song, but hope is there as well much like "In My Life".

I don't want to imagine a world without McCartney. He's one of the only lights left shining in this dark, dark world.

Seems to be about a guy who can't wait for his wife/girlfriend's annoying friends to leave his house. Simple enough.

This song is so Harrison like that I wonder if Paul realized it when he wrote it.
Great song.
Would love to have heard the 24 year old Paul sing it

Paul McCartney is more dylanish than Bob Dylan.
This truth has been evident since he released 'Drink To Me'" (LP "Band On The Run")

Be honest with yourself. If this song was by anyone else, it would be dismissed outright.
He wrote better songs when he was 14.

actually "So Bad" is one of Paul's solo songs from the CD "Pipes Of Peace", but yeah his last CD wasn't good at all except "Dance Tonight".
