  • Great video! Christmas is a made up holiday. The Roman Catholic church put Christ into the pagan holiday called Saturnalia which is held on December 25th-Jan1. This was done by the Roman Catholic Church to get the pagans to come to the church for monetary reasons. I urge everyone that celebrates Christmas as the birth of Christ to stop. The bible teaches to celebrate the Death of Christ and not the birth. Don't be fooled by Satan anymore people please "google" the origins of these false holidays

  • @innaturalstateofmind The Most High God has given us, the children of Israel holy days that we must abide in the Old Testament. Jesus did not come to abolish any laws and He did not come for peace. He came to lead the lost sheep down the right and righteous path. Keep the commandments and read the old testament to see what we ought to be doing. YAH Bless in the mighty name of Yeshua(Jesus).

  • I personally feel Mother's Day should be celebrated EVERY day. period. but when that day comes, I don't do jack much. I cook for me, I do stuff to make me feel good. My mom is still living but she and I have a troubled relationship. nevertheless, I try my best to honor her.

  • Did you hear of that news story where the girlfriend/wife hit her husband in the head with a pot because he didn't buy her a present for mother's day? I couldn't believe it. For mother's day my kids made me a card and a drawing, my husband told me how much he loved me and how he thinks I'm a great mother to our kids. I went to church and worshiped and that was my GREAT mother's day. I think most holidays are too commercialized. I honor my mother EVERY day and make sure she knows it. Great video!

  • OMG! This is one of my FAV songs! That album is my FAV album by Deitrick Haddon. It is a Halmark holiday. If someone has to tell u when to appreciate someone, then ur raising a problem. I miss u hun! TC!

  • I ask my family to do whatever is on their heart. If my daughter wants to sit with me quietly, that's my gift. If my son wants to tell me all about WWF, that is my gift. Truth be told, the best Mother's day gift I've ever received was breakfast in bed (which I get every weekend anyway) and handwritten cards from my babies.

  • I agree. Somebody made up a day for you to spend some money. I a mom everyday. My mom celebrates everything. I did get out of going out this year and we went out to eat on Monday. I don't believe in all these holiday's except Passover. I told my kids not to buy me anything but to spend that money on bettering themselves. Like getting out of debt or starting a business or something. I don't need a day to validate that I'm a mom! Insane.

  • AGREED!! and AMEN!

  • Very sad that people have to be told when and how to honor their mothers. 2 Corinthians 9:7- Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Kinda interesting what is said @ Wiki:Celebrations of mothers and motherhood occur throughout the world; many of these can be traced back to ancient festivals, like the Greek cult to Cybele or the Roman festival of Hilaria.

  • I hope you had a blessed Mother's Day. ((HUGS)) Sparks. Always enjoy your vids. God bless. :)

  • I agree with you so much...I really don't do the all the holiday things either b/c I feel mother' s can be anyday of the year..It can be june 7 if that's when you want to take out a day and do something special for ur mom, wife, whoever....I feel that way about valentine's day and all the others and Easter and Christmas is not even about us...It's about God!!!! So those are my thoughts as well...But Happy Mother's day to you...You seem to be an excellent mom....Stay blessed and favored.

  • Girl i feel the same way about the hallmark holidays! Buy your woman flowers once in a while guys, not just once a year, and I also agree on being kind hearted, I'v

  • Happy Mothers Day (: Love yu mom <3 && the pictures at the end are gorgeous <3

  • As a Christian ,I do not celebrate any of these manmade/pagan holidays. so many celebrate these things without even knowing about the background of these holidays and the fact of the matter is we are supposed to honor them daily and show respect and dignity to all.

  • Happy Mother's Day to u!! Good video

  • I never really thought about it with Mothers Day until now. I try to honor my mother all the time. (even when she drives me crazy lol) I did buy her a card this weekend though. Her and my grandmother just like to get them from us I guess. You are so right about the commercialism of everything though. It gets so overdone.

  • I agree with you 100%!!!

  • I so agree! I believe that by living in a commercialized capitalistic society it takes away an individulas ability to think for themselves. In my opinion Mother's Day is everyday. After all I am a mother and my job is 365 days of the year. When I feel like I want to do something nice for myself, I do it! I don't wait for society to say OK..."Today is your day".

I am in the process of reinventing my life.

  • @MsNJohnson Me too! Daily renewal and washing away of this society and its ways of thinking and doing things.

  • HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! GOD BLESS

  • @bparrants THANK YOU!

  • I think its what you make it!Personally, I always hang out with my mom and we have a wonderful relationship. But because it is a holiday I get off work and I have extra time to spend with her. I do not feel the NEED to rush out and buy her things. I feel like I want to. I take notes about things she likes and I give her those things on Mother's Day because I appreciate her. Nobody's being bamboozled here! At the end of the day it all comes down to LOVE.

  • @MochaChaiChica That is very nice of you. I'm sure your mother appreciates all you do. Thanks for watching!

  • i concur. most holidays advertise spending MONEY. and then there are too many holidays, and then society making up new holidays at that!

  • @keyahnee I know! There is a day for EVERYTHING! I refuse to allow the stores to dictate how I spend.

  • Thank you for saying it now I don't have to

  • @QueenSeduire LOL!

  • I like the idea of what Mother's Day represents, a day to honor mothers and motherhood. I do agree that all holidays are too commercial. Of course we want our children to be obedient all year long to honor us, but there is nothing wrong with putting a spotlight on our wonderful roles in their lives and all we so. Happy Mothers Day to you.

  • @Nicsnaps I agree that there is nothing wrong with putting aside a day. What I do not agree on is all of the money spent on it because most children and people feel obligated to do. Thank you and Happy Mother's Day to you (if it applies *smiles*)

  • My lil man treats every day like its mother's day, he is respectful to me, helpful and loves to makes things for me. Mothers day in the UK is around early April my son puts in more effort my birthday which is around the same time. Thanks for your vid, my parents have a similar mentality, if you need to be told a day in the year to treat a person right then something must be wrong.

  • @meadowarch I definitely believe birthdays should be the big "bang" of the year. I certainly agree with your comments :)

  • I ask the same thing of my young daughter. Just listen to me throughtout the year and we good. That's all I want, cause it makes mothering so much easier.

  • @coldestwoman Yes ma'am!

  • Hey Spark!!!!! Long time no speak! I am still gettin it!!!!

  • I don't agree. *smile* I wonder if your ideals comes from your relationship with your mother. Mine do.

You appaer to be a wonderful mother. I believe that your children as often as humanly possible attempt to tell you this. Yet, this is 1 day out of the yr for them to collectively celebrate/honor you.!? I say embrace it. You deserve it!

You have taught each of your family members to be wise shoppers, so it would not feed into the commerical nature like most holiday.

    God Bless.

    *grin*

  • @IamUrsula *smiles* I received "I love you Mommy!" today and that was more than enough. I have taught my children not to spend their hard earned money on a commercialized day. Now on my birthday...I expect the bank to be broken! LOL!

  • I feel it is sweet to set aside a day to recognize all the hard work a good mother does. Speaking as somebody's baby, with age I think the commercialism almost pushes you to do more for mom and the true meaning can be lost. If I was a mother I would be like look, the day falls on the day of rest so...whatchu think I'm doin for the day? Lol. And sometimes mothers may even begin to expect something, which takes away the element of surprise and innocence of the holiday.

  • @oulove935 LOL! I'm resting today too. I just don't like the commercial aspect :)

  • LOL! I just finished watching a vid response to your Christmas vid, wondering if anyone had done one for Mother's Day. I get back to my subscriptions and here you are! It is very much is a Hallmark holiday. The original idea was from mothers/women peace groups to band together to protest their sons fighting and dieing in the Civil War. What we have now is so far from that it's ridiculous.

  • @msfullroller oh, was that the original purpose? I would have never known!

Now there is an International Women's Day in march and it geared to education, entrepreneurial, and philanthropic efforts to benefit women and girl world wide. that's seems like what a womens appreciation or mothers day should be.

  • @NotoriousLYNappy1 @msfullroller I agree! I'm going to start recognizing "International Women's Day' "up in here, up in here!" LOL!

  • @NotoriousLYNappy1 I totally agree!

  • @msfullroller You are one of the smartest women I know! I had no idea that was the original meaning. See, folks "embrace" what they don't even know. I refuse to be bamboozled!

  • @SPARKWISDOM There's more; The woman who was successful in lobbying to get this holiday (1914) which again was to honor mothers who had lost sons fighting in the war, 9 years later became an opponent to the very holiday she worked so hard to get. Why? She saw and hated the commercialization. I'm not so smart, just when something does not sit right with my spirit, I do research. I/we are given a brain by the Creator and I don't think it's up there just to take up space.

  • @berneasebrown Thanks for watching! :)

  • I believe what the Bible's says about honor our mother and father. Everyday! These so-called "holy days" are a part of the world. We know who the ruler of this world is. - 2 Corinthians 4:4, 1 John 5:19. Commercialism, Religion, and the Military are three of the main institutions that the ruler of this system uses, to keep people enslaved. Thanks for this upload. I had put up a similar video, but I don't know if ppl really got the point.

  • @slapme77times Exactly! I tell my children quite often that "Honor thy mother and father" is the one commandment with a PROMISE attached. I'll check out your video too. Thanks for watching!

  • you are 100% right ,but if people must give gifts i personally think they should be home made . because those are truly from the heart and they are unique . It shows you put your heart and soul into it .

  • @ardana777 handmade/homemade are the best!

  • I can definitely understand what you are saying. Especially since their are so many ways people can and DO show people appreciation for their efforts outside of holidays.

It doesn't make sense to say "On this day you should go way out of your way an/or means" with an act to signify a recognition and appreciation for something or someone that should be demonstrated year round.

  • @NotoriousLYNappy1 Yes, by putting the focus on one day, most people wait and pour it all out on that one day. *sigh* makes no sense to me neither. :)
